🎉 Huge congratulations to Ph.D. student Jason (supervised by Prof. Raymond Tong) for winning the Outstanding Poster Presentation Award at the KCC Convention 2025!💬

"I am incredibly honored to receive the Outstanding Poster Award for our work on 'Task-Oriented Neurological Upper Limb Rehabilitation via Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) Controlled Exoskeleton.' Pursuing my Ph.D. under the inspiring guidance of Prof. Raymond Tong while serving as an Assistant Manager/Technology at the ARTLab in Hospital Authority Community Rehabilitation Service Support Center has been an intense but deeply rewarding journey. In ARTLab, I am figuring out how to bridge advanced engineering frameworks with real-world clinical applications to improve patient lives.

Under Prof. Raymond Tong's mentorship, our project demonstrates how combining BCI technology with assistive exoskeletons can create highly motivated, active rehabilitation paths for chronic stroke survivors. I am profoundly grateful to Prof. Raymond Tong, my co-authors, and the incredible teams at both CUHK BME and the Hospital Authority CRSSC for their unwavering support. This award strongly motivates us to keep pushing the boundaries of assistive robotics and wearable technology!" said Jason.

天宮空間站作為大型太空實驗室，係人類開展前沿科學研究、拓展探索邊界嘅重要平台，而香港科研團隊亦喺其中貢獻咗關鍵力量。

2023年，天舟六號貨運飛船搭載咗由香港團隊研發、全球首創嘅關節軟骨修復材料——「dLhCG」。「dLhCG」喺空間站內外接受測試，團隊重點觀察佢喺微重力同宇宙射線環境下嘅變化。呢項研究展現咗太空探索點樣為醫療創新帶來新方向。

🎉 Congratulations to Mr. Sui Ip Ng!

Mr. Sui Ip Ng, a 3rd-year undergraduate in Biomedical Engineering (CUHK BME), has won the Best Paper Award at the 9th International Conference on Machine Vision and Applications (2026)—an honour awarded to fewer than 6% of submissions.

His paper presented an AI-enabled low-cost hematology analyser that classifies white blood cells without chemical reagents, achieving 94.3% accuracy in real time.

Sui Ip joined the Laser Metrology and Biomedicine Lab in March 2025, and worked under the supervision of Dr. Xin Shu and Prof. Renjie Zhou.

Congratulations, Miss Yu Yan CHEUNG!

🎉 We are deeply honored to celebrate your achievement at the Innovation and Technology Scholarship 2026 Award Presentation Ceremony. Here is her message:

I am deeply honored to receive the Innovation and Technology Scholarship 2026 in the Life and Health Technologies area. My journey began with an elderly care initiative I co-founded in high school. Spending time with elderly residents in nursing homes and listening to their struggles with movement and social isolation made me realize that even when technologies exist, some fail to perform at their maximum potential for those who need them most.

This scholarship will allow me to explore gerontechnology from different perspectives, particularly how digital tools and user-centered assistive devices can be designed to help Hong Kong’s elderly age with dignity and independence. I look forward to learning from international exchange opportunities and internship programs and bringing back valuable insights to our local community.
