✨ The Department of Journalism and Communication, in collaboration with HKAECT, proudly hosted a 3-day International Conference on EdTech: Revolutionising Education Through Technology from 10–12 June 2026 at Hong Kong Chu Hai College.
🌍 The event brought together 45 scholars from the U.S.A., Mainland China, and Hong Kong, with over 100 participants joining both onsite and online.
🎤 The conference opened with welcoming remarks by Dr. Wendy Chan, President of HKAECT, and Professor Robert Li, Associate Vice President (Academic & Research) of Hong Kong Chu Hai College.
⭐ Five distinguished keynote speakers shared their expertise:
• Professor John Curry, AECT President-Elect (USA)
• Professor Fung Kam Wing, Dean of Faculty of Arts and Social Science, Hong Kong Chu Hai College
• Dr. Anna Tso, Head & Associate Professor, Department of English, Hang Seng University of Hong Kong
• Professor Li Yan, Director of Curriculum & Learning Sciences and AI in Education Research Center, Zhejiang University, China
• Dr. Wong Chi Hung, Associate Professor, School of Arts and Social Sciences, Hong Kong Metropolitan University
📚 Faculty members and a student from the Department of Journalism and Communication also presented their research findings.
🎬 A special symposium, “New W**e in Old Bottles: A Discussion on Popular Culture”, featured insights from media and academic experts:
• Miss Lam Ho Yan, Senior Reporter, HoyTV
• Dr. Lin Ka Chun, Lecturer, HKU Space-PLK
• Mr. Pui Ho Fai, Lecturer, Hong Kong Shue Yan University
🏆 Two Best Paper Awards were presented:
• Dr. Frankie Har – Best Faculty Paper
• Mr. Eric Chui – Best Student Paper Both received certificates and the latest design earphones in recognition of their achievements.
🍴 The conference concluded with a celebratory luncheon at the Gold Coast Hotel, where Dr. Wendy Chan expressed heartfelt thanks to the organizing committee and participants.
