At the Frankfurt Book Fair, Iva Grabarić Andonovski is part of the EASE delegation, representing the experiences of Ukrainian and Croatian editors in challenging wartime conditions and the ways in which EASE supports editors in troubled areas. Community efforts will also be a focus of the EASE Conference in Brighton, UK, 2–4 June 2027.

Yesterday, at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, our linguistic editor, Zrinka Pongrac Habdija, attended the conference Language Policy in European Higher Education. Esteemed speakers from universities in Portugal, the Netherlands and Norway shared their experiences and challenges of teaching in their native languages and in English. The roundtable What Can We Learn from Europe's Different Paths sparked a very interesting discussion.

Our editor, Iva Grabarić Andonovski, was a panellist at the OASPA 2026 Conference in Zagreb, discussing the many faces of sustainability in open access. This week, she also led the workshop “Meet the Editor: Navigating the Scientific Publishing Process” at the 8th Croatian Congress of Microbiology in Trakošćan.
Next week, Iva will represent EASE at the Frankfurt Book Fair, where you are welcome to attend the talk “Academic Publishing in Times of War: Supporting the Scientific Community” on 9 October at 11:00. More information is available at https://event.buchmesse.de/de/sessions/68312
