Last weekend our Zagreb team achieved an outstanding 1st place at the Central and Eastern European Moot Competition (CEEMC)!
Held in Timișoara from 1 to 3 May, four brilliant students represented our Faculty at this prestigious competition: Frane Nikola Marović, Hrvoje Matić, Anja Polovina, Mihael Šoić, under the mentorship of dr. sc. Antonija Ivančan and Assistant Ana Altabas. We are especially proud that Anja Polovina was awarded the Professor William Cornish Best Speaker Prize.
As part of this recognition, the team will visit leading institutions in London (including the UK Supreme Court and Inner Temple) and the University of Cambridge Faculty of Law, and has been awarded a place on the British Law Centre’s one-year Diploma in English Law & Legal Skills (DELLS). In addition, as the recipient of the Best Speaker Prize, Anja Polovina has been awarded an internship at the Court of Justice of the European Union.
A big thank-you to everyone who supported and contributed to making this achievement possible: the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Law (Zagreb Faculty of Law Alumni Network), our sponsors Bardek, Lisac, Mušec, Skoko and partners in cooperation with CMS Reich-Rohrwig Hainz, Šavorić & Partners, and Divjak Topić Bahtijarević & Krka Law Firm.
We would also like to extend our special thanks to our dear colleagues and former moot court participants who devoted their time to support our team during preparations for oral rounds – Iris Goldner Lang, Tamara Perisin, Tamara Ćapeta, Nika Bačić Selanec, Davor Petric, Svan Relac, Marianela Delgado Nieves, Lynn Hillary, Niko Jarak, Dora Pavković, Helena Kumpar Zidanič, Dina Salapić, Iva Pejić, Patricija Čeović, Franka Logarić, and Nika Vicković.
Lastly, congratulations to this exceptional team – you’ve made us all very proud! We can’t wait to see all the great things you will accomplish in the future!
