The 9th ArtHungry Award is approaching, and two projects from MOME’s Design MA programme have been selected for the shortlist.
🔹 Zsombor Égerházi - Bristly
Bristly is a sleek and affordable electric toothbrush designed to reduce plastic waste by up to 75% by replacing only the bristles instead of the full head. Its compact construction minimises material use, manufacturing resources, and carbon footprint, while the durable metal body supports long-term use. A snap-in mechanism allows easy bristle replacement, with colour-coded options available in different hardness levels.
🔹 Őri Panna - MOPS.
MOPS. reflects on the design legacy of Hungarian furniture designer Sándor Mikó. Its metal frame is inspired by one of Mikó’s fruit basket concepts, reinterpreted into a chair and paired with deep red velvet cushions referencing his iconic Te + Én armchair. The contrast between raw welded steel and soft upholstery creates a dialogue between past and present, while highlighting craftsmanship, material honesty, and continuity between design generations.
The ArtHungry Award highlights outstanding contemporary creative work across disciplines, giving visibility to projects that stand out through concept, ex*****on, and originality.
Public voting is open until March 23, midnight on the ArtHungry website. Support our students while there is still time.
