UNWAR’S POSTGRADUATE PROGRAM HAD ITS 10TH ANNIVERSARY, VARIOUS EVENTS ENLIVENED IT.

On June 27, 2022, the Postgraduate Program, Warmadewa University celebrated its 10th anniversary. In the context of the event, various activities – such as competitions for students, lecturers and education staff, and awards for students who have got published papers in international publishing forums in collaboration with lecturers – were held. As part of the Postgraduate Program, the Master of Linguistics Program (MIL) participated in these activities.

In the lecturer-level competition, the MIL won 3rd place and in the student-level competition it won 1st and 3rd place. In the selection of awards for students who have got papers written in collaboration with lecturers published in international publishing forums, 10 MIL students were selected as recipients. The ten students in question wrote the published papers in collaboration with 3 the MIL lecturers.

Let’s congratulate the lecturers and students of MIL who received the awards for publishing scientific writings at the international-level forums.

Politeknik Pariwisata Bali held a Workshop on Preparation of Tourism Industry Work Practice Guidelines and Thesis and Final Project Writing.

The event was held for two days, 24-25 June 2022 at Sthala Hotel, Ubud. There were two speakers, namely Prof. Dr. I Dewa Komang Ta**ra who presented material on Guidelines for Writing Thesis, and Sang Putu Eka Pertama who presented material on Industrial Work Practices.

THE EARNEST ENTHUSIASIM OF THE PARTICIPANTS MADE THE SHARING SESSION ON COMPILING BOOKS WITH ISBN ANOTHER GREAT SUCCESS

Master of Linguistics Program (MIL), Postgraduate Program, Warmadewa University (Unwar) Organised a Sharing Session on Compiling Books with ISBN. The event was held online on Thursday, June 23, 2022.

Centred at the Postgraduate Program of Unwar, the event was attended by participants, ranging from students to lecturers, from higher education institutions in different provinces in Indonesia, such as STKIP Sinar Pancasila-Malaka, Universitas Halu Oleo-Southeast Sulawesi, Universitas Nias Raya-North Sumatera, and the MIL's lecturers, students and alumni.

The event invited one student and one alumnus of the MIL to be speakers. The student is Nur Afnita, S.S., who is from Kendari-Southeast Sulawesi and is in the second semester at the MIL and the alumnus is Rahmat Gaho, S.Pd., M.Hum., the CEO of MIL’s Wahana Publikasi and is from South Nias-North Sumatera.

The event was officially opened by the Head of the Master of Linguistics Program, Postgraduate Program, Warmadewa University, Dr. Mirsa Umiyati, S.S., M.Hum. In her opening remarks, Dr. Mirsa stated that she really supports every student who seeks to develop themselves through writing or other fields of student development. She added “Every one among the participants who wants to publish their writings at the Publication Centre of the Master of Linguistics Program, Postgraduate Program, Warmadewa University, will be assisted with some subsidies.

Rahmat explained that it is very important to publish scientific papers as one of the requirements of increasing the status for those who work as lecturers. He added that in publishing scientific papers, he works with his team to conduct several checks in advance of publication, and it is to avoid plagiarism in the papers.

Nur Afnita revealed her real experiences of how she came up with several books in the midst of her hectic life as a student. She shed light some information by explaining that everyone wanting to develop themselves through writing needs to have a good time managemen and strong commitment and needs to shortly take real actions
