From identifying mangrove species to understanding how they protect coastlines, support wildlife, and create livelihoods for local communities, the field brings the lesson to life.

Sometimes, understanding an ecosystem means getting a little muddy. 💚

A newly hatched sea turtle is exciting to see. But for our students, the more important question is: why is it here? 🌊
During our conservation field learning, students observe how vulnerable nests may be protected when their original location puts the eggs at risk, and what happens between nesting, hatching, and eventually returning to the ocean.
Moments like this are not only about getting close to wildlife. They are an opportunity to understand the responsibility that comes with protecting it. 🐢
Observation first. Learning always. 🤍

Forget the kitchen timer, we’re learning to read the fire. 🔥

A little smoke, a little patience, and the traditional way of roasting coffee beans over a wood-fired stove; learning that sometimes you don’t need a timer, you just need to pay attention.

Ending the week with smoky clothes, freshly roasted coffee, and another little Bali experience to remember. ☕️

Bali is famous for its beautiful hotels and unforgettable hospitality experiences, but what happens behind the scenes? 🏨
We stepped backstage to discover how a hotel manages something guests don’t usually see: its waste. From learning how wastewater is treated to understanding the systems behind responsible hotel operations, the students got to see that sustainable hospitality goes far beyond what meets the eye.
Because sometimes, the most meaningful lessons happen behind the scenes. ♻️✨

Our day with Pak Raka and his family gave us a closer look at Tri Hita Karana not only as a philosophy to study, but as something woven into everyday Balinese life.

Learning doesn’t always need a classroom. 🤍 Happy Monday!

Maybe this is what learning in Indonesia is really about, not just studying a subject, but becoming part of a place, even for a little while.
Because when you learn through the culture, the people, and the stories around you, the classroom suddenly becomes much bigger. ❤️🤍

Our final week, but not the final chapter. ✨

Time passed in the blink of an eye. Somewhere between the lectures, field experiences, long days, laughter, and conversations, we learned a lot & made memories we’ll carry forever. 🌿

As we close Week 4, we’re grateful. 🤍

To our students, thank you for choosing Bali and trusting us with these four weeks. To Udayana University, our lecturers, field partners, and every person who opened their doors and shared their knowledge with us, thank you for giving our students a place to learn, question, and grow.

And to our incredible team, thank you for everything that happened both in front of and behind the scenes. 💚

The program may be over, but we hope this is only the beginning of many more chapters to come. 🌺

A visit to Taman Ujung Karangasem is more than admiring beautiful architecture. 🌺

It is an opportunity to explore the history of the Balinese monarchy, understand the stories behind its royal water palace, and see how culture, architecture, and nature have shaped one another over time. 🏛️🌿

These moments were made even more meaningful as our students explored Taman Ujung alongside our wonderful Prof. Asta, whose knowledge and passion always bring every place and every story to life. 🤍

The more we understand our heritage, the more we recognize why preserving it matters. 💚
