Catholic University of St. Thomas Medan Saint Thomas Foundation This is the only college in the field of philosophy, at least the first of its kind. Thomas, who is based in Medan.

Starting from the Theological Seminary of Philosophy IV (STFT) in the Archdiocese of Medan in Parapat which opened in 1956. Parapat crowded campus, the Seminary was also broken. Philosophy student remains in Parapat, while students moved to Siantar Theology. In 1986, the two combined again Siantar in the new building. On 23 April 1984, STFT and its Secretary and Management Academy YPK Budi Pure merged into Catholic University (Unika) St.
