In Student-paced Learning, instead of progressing through a series of levels or stages, students are placed in streams. These streams allow students to move at a pace that suits them best and ensure that students will always be in groups of the right ability. instead of end-of-term tests, we use regular skill-assessments to monitor the progress each student has made. These assessments do not produ
ce scores or grades, but our teachers write personalised reports explaining exactly what each students has learned, what he or she is performing in class. Well-trained and passionate teachers. Each teacher at ELC has been selected based on qualification, experience and attitude. The syllabus at ELC is designed with freedom in mind and teachers have a wide range of materials to make sure that every lesson offers exactly what the students need. An important part of our teaching-learning style is the use of context. We give students the chance to experience using English in realistic situations so that they are prepared to use it in real life. Skill-focused assessments. We don't believe in scores and percentages when it comes to our students progress. Instead, we conduct regular skills assessments to see exactly what progress students have made and where they still need more practise. Optimum class sizes. It is important that students get the attention they need and deserve, but also that they have the opportunity to practise with friends, so at ELC we amke sure our classes are just the right size. Understanding and supportive parents. We couldn't do it without you! At ELC we aim to work together with parents to give our students the best. We send regular reports, set homework tasks and are always happy to answer any questions you might have.
