📢 New Course Announcement – Starting September at Leitrim College
QQI Level 5 Certificate in Psychology, Youth & Social Studies
Cost: FREE

Leitrim College is pleased to announce the launch of a new QQI Level 5 programme in Psychology, Youth and Social Studies, commencing this September. This course is designed for individuals interested in understanding human behaviour, supporting young people, and contributing to community and social care settings.

Course Content
Learners will study a comprehensive range of modules, including:

Psychology
Social Studies
Human Growth and Development
Understanding Mental Health
Young People and Society

This programme provides a strong academic foundation combined with practical skills relevant to the social care and youth work sectors.

Progression Opportunities
Upon successful completion of the QQI Level 5 award, learners may progress to:

Further Education
QQI Level 6 programmes including our Health Level 6 in Supervisory Management for Health, Disability & Community Services
Higher education courses via CAO in areas such as Social Care, Psychology, Counselling and related fields, Youth & Community Work, etc..
Employment Pathways in roles such as Youth services, Disability Support services, Family and Community programmes and more.

Leitrim College is delighted to introduce a new QQI Level 6 programme designed for those working in — or aspiring to work in — supervisory or team‑lead roles within health, disability, and community service settings. This advanced course focuses on developing strong leadership, communication, organisational and management skills essential for modern care environments. There are no fees for this course (except for class materials).
