Our Health Service Skills and Social Studies groups had a wonderful walk and talk around Carrick-on-Shannon this week as part of the Leitrim College Health & Wellbeing programme facilitated by ; thanks to everyone for joining in, it was a great way to connect with fellow students! 🚶‍♂️✨

We had such a lovely time meeting all the wonderful students and staff at Cnoc Mhuire Granard at their career and college fair today! It was fantastic chatting with everyone and hearing the inspiring stories from the keynote speakers. A huge thank you to Jordy & the staff & management for inviting us to such a well-organised and inspirational event—well done to all involved! 🎓✨👏

Our outdoor sports & recreation, and Tourism students wrapped up a productive week by earning their REC First Aid certification with Remote First aid. We want to give a huge shoutout to Johnny Hancox for his expert instruction! 🎓🩹⛰️

A massive shout-out and Thank you to Laura from YAPSL – Youth Action Project Sligo Leitrim, Youth Work Ireland North Connacht, for visiting our Psychology, Youth & Social Studies class in our Carrick campus.

Laura gave such a brilliant, informative talk, highlighting the vital work they do and the incredible impact they have on the lives of young people. We are so grateful for you sharing your expertise and experience with us! 💙👏✨

We were delighted to welcome Minister of State at the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, Marian Harkin, TD, to Youthreach Leitrim on Monday as funding was announced for the redevelopment of the future Leitrim College FET Campus and Youthreach Leitrim Centre in Mohill, Co. Leitrim.

Minister Harkin visited Youthreach Leitrim at its current location in Drumshanbo, where she met with learners and staff and heard first-hand about the impact the programme has had on their lives and educational journeys. The Minister then travelled to Mohill to view what will be redeveloped into the future Leitrim College FET Campus and Youthreach Leitrim Centre following the funding announcement.

The redevelopment will transform the former Vocational School, a site with a proud educational heritage, into a modern learning environment designed to support skills development, lifelong learning and educational progression for generations to come.

Thank you to Minister Harkin, our staff, learners and all those who joined us to mark this significant milestone for education in Leitrim and the surrounding region.
