The Irish Young Philosopher Awards, a countrywide celebration of philosophical thinking and enquiry for young people in Ireland. It is open to students in 3rd to 6th class Primary and all secondary students. It is a child-led initiative so teachers do not need to be philosophy experts - just let the budding young Platos and Aristotles think away on their submissions! The Teaching Council is hosting a Droichead information webinar on Wednesday 14 June at 8 p.m. The webinar will give teachers an opportunity to hear from and interact with a principal, a newly qualified teacher and a professional support team member who have experienced the Droichead process. The Teaching Council and the NIPT will also participate in the discussion. This is a great opportunity to learn more about Droichead from peers who have experienced the process. There are also 70 second level schools that use Irish as their language of instruction. 65,201 students are currently engaging with Irish medium education in the South of Ireland.
