Students in our BA in Graphic Communication Design recently explored children's books from and about Palestine as part of an ongoing international initiative led by the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY UK).

Through this project, students engaged with stories that celebrate Palestinian culture, identity and heritage, exploring the important role children's literature and illustration can play in preserving cultural narratives.

This project gave our students a valuable opportunity to engage with international literature while developing their understanding of storytelling, illustration, and the power of visual communication.

We were delighted to welcome Luke Reilly, Communications Director at Jailbird PR, to our PR Theory and Practice class as part of the MA in PR and Digital Communications at Griffith College.

Luke shared his insights on what makes a winning PR campaign, bringing the theory to life with a behind-the-scenes look at Jailbird’s PRCA award-winning campaign celebrating Bulmers’ 90th birthday.

🎃Talk about a monster achievement!

Just in time for Halloween, John McDonough, Programme Director of our BEng in Industrial and Systems Engineering and BSc (Hons) in Operations and Systems Management, has grown the largest pumpkin ever recorded in Ireland, tipping the scales at an incredible 1,322 lbs!

Who knew John’s engineering talents extended to giant pumpkins?! 🎃👻

We were delighted to welcome Gillian Baker, Senior Client Advisor for Start-ups at Enterprise Ireland, to Griffith College as a guest lecturer for our final-year Business students.

Gillian shared insight into Enterprise Ireland’s strategy for supporting new start-up companies, and how the agency works with founders to help them launch, scale and compete internationally.

Guest lectures like this let our students connect classroom learning with real-world industry experience.

Congratulations to our BA (Hons) Film, TV and Screen Media Production students, whose film 'The House Guest' won Best Comedy at the SUNFA Film Fest!👏

The film follows a young man whose life takes an unexpected turn after he buys a seemingly innocent doll at a garage sale, only to discover it is haunted and seeking revenge. But it may have met its match!

The talented crew behind the film includes Ricardo Enrique Castillo Bolivar (Director), Jack McCann (Writer & DOP), Lorcan Mullen (Assistant Director), Kavya Phillips (Producer) and Sarp Pamir (Sound & Editor).

Well done to the entire team on this fantastic achievement!

Today we welcomed over 100 secondary school students for Law Student for a Day 2026. ⚖

They learned the key principles of criminal law from our lecturers, reviewed the evidence in our mock trial, and acted as the jury to reach a final verdict. The enthusiasm and curiosity shown throughout the day were truly inspiring.

Thank you to our students, staff, and guest speakers for sharing their time, expertise, and passion, and for creating such a memorable experience for everyone involved. A special thank you to Aaron Walsh and Crystal Tauro from Coláiste Pobail Setanta, and Alecsandra Albu from Ardgillan Community College, for taking part in our mock trial.
