An evening to celebrate UCD Engineering accomplishments! 🎉

The 2026 EGA Award Ceremony brought together the University College Dublin community for a celebration of academic achievement and UCD alumni making a difference, organised by the UCD Engineering Graduates Association and UCD College of Engineering & Architecture.

Special congratulations to Dr Lucy O'Keeffe, recipient of the Distinguished Graduate Award for her work in heart valve treatment, and Dr Ian Campbell, recipient of the Engineering Impact Award for advances in battery technology.

Sometimes, the most useful career advice comes from someone who's already asked the same questions as you. 💼

Last week, UCD Alumni in London gathered for an evening of roundtable conversations, sharing experiences and talking through career challenges. With space to ask questions, exchange ideas and hear different perspectives, it was a chance to make new connections and learn from fellow University College Dublin graduates.

A healthier world and a greener future start with people who make a difference. 🌍

This year, University College Dublin graduates have given their community plenty to celebrate through outstanding achievements in health and sustainability.

From Bryan J. Traynor receiving the Breakthrough Prize in Life Sciences for discoveries linked to ALS and frontotemporal dementia, to Eimear Cotter being appointed Director General of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA Ireland), these are just two of the alumni featured in this year's Class Acts.

A warm Boston welcome for UCD rowers from the University College Dublin alumni community! ☘️🚣

Before the racing began on the Charles River, UCD Alumni and rowers came together at the UMass Club to kick off the Head Of The Charles Regatta weekend. catching up with fellow graduates, meeting new faces and welcoming the UCD crews to Boston.

There was plenty to celebrate on the water too! A crew built around UCD School of Medicine students and graduates took second place in the Directors' Challenge Mixed Eights, while Old Collegians placed sixth in the Women's Alumnae Eights and UCD's student crew finished seventh in the Women's Club Eights.

"Honestly, some of my favourite memories of University College Dublin are the simplest ones. A lot of them involve sitting in the Clubhouse with my friends after class, talking, laughing, and spending time together." 🤝

Austin Gregory's journey has taken him across the world - from a year in Taiwan as a Fulbright Scholar, to an MA in International Relations at UCD, and now to Vienna, where he is pursuing a Diploma in International Studies at the Diplomatische Akademie Wien as a second-time Fulbright Scholar.

70 years of UCD School of Chemical & Bioprocess Engineering, celebrated across generations. 🎉

Back in University College Dublin's O'Reilly Hall, UCD Alumni joined staff, students and friends for an evening of memories, catch-ups and conversations about the future. Different graduating years and career paths came together through a shared connection to UCD and a place in the School's story.

UCD Alumni came together in Madrid for an evening of networking, catching up with fellow graduates and meeting new faces over delicious tapas. 🇪🇸

From reminiscing about their time at University College Dublin to sharing experiences and making new connections, it was a lovely reminder that the UCD community extends far beyond campus.

Frank McGuinness is bringing new work to the Abbey Theatre, Philippa Dunne has earned a BAFTA nomination, and UCD College of Arts and Humanities graduate Djamel White's debut novel has reached the Booker Prize longlist. They're among this year's Class Acts, celebrating alumni whose creativity continues to inspire and move audiences.

A little alumni insight can go a long way in shaping a future career.

Now in its second year, the UCD Sport & Exercise Management Mentoring Programme has grown to 22 alumni-student mentoring pairings, connecting the next generation of sport and exercise professionals with alumni who can share their experience, insights and advice.

Delivered in collaboration with the UCD School of Public Health, Physiotherapy and Sports Science, the programme gives students the opportunity to explore career pathways, learn from alumni experiences and build connections that extend beyond graduation.

For international students at University College Dublin, a new city feels more welcoming when there's someone to turn to for advice. 🤝

Following the launch of this year's UCD Alumni Buddy Programme, matches have been shared with more than 250 international students. This year, 180 alumni volunteers are ready to answer questions, share their Dublin tips and help students settle in. There will also be social, cultural and career events where buddies can connect together.
