Caitríona Perry, BBC News Chief Presenter, is at the forefront of global news today. Here, she talks about how her time at DCU shaped her career path and offers some insight into how journalism is evolving. Since being a student at DCU, Caitríona has held many key positions in media, most recently moving from being RTÉ’s Washington Correspondent to now working as a presenter with the BBC in the U.S.

As nominations for2026 Alumni Awards have opened, let's take a look back at one of our 2025 Alumni awardees. We celebrated the wonderful contribution and impact by 10 of our graduates across the world. One of them being Eddie Wilson, CEO of Ryanair DAC.

Studying business in 1986, Eddie led the company successfully through and out of the pandemic period, when 99% of its flights were grounded, back up to a position today of carrying over 200 million passengers in 2025 confirming it as Europe’s largest airline group. Eddie was a very deserving recipient of an Alumni award in 2025. Now it’s your chance to recognise another outstanding graduate by submitting a nomination for the 2026 Alumni Awards.
