The HDip Arts Philosophy is a one-year full-time 60-credit (ECTS) programme. It is designed for:
Students who hold an undergraduate degree in a subject other than Philosophy and wish to further their philosophical education.
Students who wish to apply for one of our taught MA programmes but do not have a qualifying degree. These students should bear in mind that the minimum entry requirement for the taught MA in UCD is an overall GPA of 3·08 (B–) or 2:1 in the Higher Diploma. See https://www.ucd.ie/philosophy/study/postgraduate/conversion-degree/ for details.
Entry Requirements
The HDip Arts Philosophy is of interest to graduates who already hold a BA degree or equivalent Level 8 degree NFQ (Irish National Framework of Qualifications). The programme runs during the daytime in conjunction with the full-time BSc programme.

30 credits must be Level-2 modules (those beginning with a ‘2’, typically worth 5 credits each), at least 20 credits of which must be taken in the first semester, and
30 credits must be Level-3 modules (those beginning with a ‘3’, typically worth 10 credits each).
