Very excited to see how the upcoming year goes for the TU Dublin Student Managed Fund!!

While we have been quiet for the last number of months, we are really looking forward to the upcoming academic year. We are delighted to know that the Goodbody Student Managed Fund competition will be running for 2020/21 and we also look forward to participating in the CFA Society Ireland CFA Research Challenge which will be run online.

Each year we have tried to improve the TU Dublin - Student Managed Fund with this year being no exception. We are delighted to announce that Technological University Dublin will be entering a team in the highly prestigious RETC Rotman European Trading Competition which will take place (COVID dependent) in Rome in August 2021. We are really delighted and grateful to our mentor Seán O'Reilly for giving our students the opportunity to participate in such events.

This year, Joseph Finnegan Murphy will be CEO of the TU Dublin SMF and we wish him great success. Joseph has already represented TU Dublin at the Goodbody Student Managed Fund in 2019 where we finished runner-up and was team captain for the CFA Research Challenge Team in March 2020.

We look forward to an exciting year ahead!

The School of Accounting and Finance are absolutely delighted to be shortlisted for not once, but twice for the Irish Accounting Awards in the category of Excellence in Education & Training.

We have been shortlisted for our TU Dublin SMF and real life case study projects! Well done to all. The final is on 16th April

This time last week through the TU Dublin SMF our students gained a fantastic insight into life in one of the largest financial institutions in the world at J.P. Morgan in their Dublin offices. The feedback from the students was brilliant with JP Morgan’s dynamic and vibrant culture the key talking points after the workshops.

Once again TU Dublin shows how strong our industry connections are. Big thanks to Sean and SMF committee for organising this office visit

A big thanks to Dave O’Donoghue from AccountancySchool.ie who was part of our employability module today. Dave spoke to the students about the different professional accountancy bodies and the routes available to them. As expected, Dave was outstanding and got great feedback from the students.

Week 4 of our employability module. A big thanks to Grant Thornton Ireland and Caroline, Sandra and Shane for a great presentation. Sandra delivered a great practical session on preparation of accounts and taxation for clients. Students got a great idea of what to expect in Grant Thornton.

Week 3 of our employability session and we were delighted to welcome PwC Ireland come in to talk to the students. Another very informative session on PwC but also on interview preparation. A huge thanks to Rosie from the Graduate Recruitment team and our own Darragh from BSc. Accounting & Finance who did a summer internship in PwC last summer. Another full house from our students

Huge engagement and buy in from our students for our employabilty module. Following on from last week we had to move to the biggest room in the College of Business with over 200 students present!! Thanks to KPMG Careers Ireland and Clare and Ciara for giving the students a great insight into life in KPMG.

Huge success at our opening employability module session today with over 160 students present!! Big thanks to Nicola and Kieron from BDO Ireland for giving such a great insight into their firm and also a CV tips workshop.

A great start to this new initiative and we look forward to next weeks session.
