DU Gender Equality Trinity Dublin University Gender Equality Society campaigns for rights for women and trans people, and fights for equality for all genders. We run weekly events.

Dublin University Gender Equality Society (or DUGES) aims to continue the increasingly important on-campus conversation regarding feminism and gender politics. DUGES seeks to foster and encourage social change and student activism, both within our college and in wider society. With a commitment to an intersectional feminism that examines the ways in which modes of oppression intersect, and a desire to stimulate discussion, DUGES facilitates feminism in Trinity through a range of social and educational events, including coffee mornings, book and film clubs, informative talks, and interactive workshops.

Semester's just started and you're already feeling stressed? 😖😖

Come on down to the attic (top of house 6, turn right at the top of the stairs and the furthest room down the hall) at 5pm this Thursday to exercise your right to vote for our new committee members, then stay after to drink w**e and complain about anything and everything!

Can't make the EGM? That's okay! Come afterward for free drinks and a safe space to express your stress and worries 🥰🥰

Do you love being a member of DUGES? Well if you do you should definitely run for committee! Not only will you be part of the hottest committee team, but it will also look fire on your CV! We’re currently looking for…

SECRETARY: Second in command next to the chair, writes weekly emails to all members(in which you have creative control to say and joke as much as you like!), as well as coordinating with other societies on events, booking rooms, ect!

GRAPHICS PRO: creating and curating events graphic (as seen on this post!)! Make it as maximalist or minimalist as you like! Just don’t forget to add location!!

OCM: one of the BEST positions (imo)! All you do is show up to events, throw out ideas for future events as well as invite others to come join! (We are looking for multiple so don’t worry)!

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE! Show up and support ur friends (aka so you can vote for them), as well as others in the community that want to support and do more!

FYI:
1. You do need to be a member to run for committee! 2. There is a bit more responsibility in each position (depending on which you run for)
3. To vote you must also be a member!
4. Don’t stress! This is everyone’s first time living! Go for it now, and think later! 😛
