Paediatric Society is a society open to all medical students of the University. The Society's overall aims are:
• To increase student exposure to paediatrics, including its unique learning requirements.
• To provide and arrange training opportunities.
• To provide a forum for discussion on relevant and topical paediatric issues.
• To encourage paediatrics as a career and provide information regard

ing different career pathways.
• To provide a service to the community (mainly through our Teddy Bear Hospital scheme).

In continuation with our Autism Awareness series, we are delighted to welcome Dr. Mary Doherty to join us on March 14th✨

Dr Mary Doherty is a consultant anaesthetist in Our Lady’s Hospital, Navan and founder of peer support and advocacy groups “Autistic Doctors International” and “Autistic Med Students”. She will explore her experiences of surviving medical school and the training years as an undiagnosed autistic woman, her life post diagnosis and her current research on barriers to healthcare for the autistic community along with tips to improve outcomes for our autistic patients and colleagues.
