Public Consultation on Early Years Education
The Department of Education and Skills, is conducting a public consultation on early years education. This forms part of a major review of education and training programmes that lead to qualifications in early childhood care and education. The purpose of the review is to ensure that such education and training programmes provide childcare practitioners with appropriate competencies, knowledge and skills to support the educational development of children in early years services including full and part-time care, sessional services and child-minders.
Your views are essential to informing the review and you are invited to participate in the consultation process through one of the following means:
By completing a template that asks your views on specific aspects of early years education. The template for submissions is accessible here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/ChildcareSubmissions. The views are sought of anyone with an interest in early childhood care and education – parents, practitioners, academics, students etc.
If you are a childcare practitioner, by completing a more detailed questionnaire that seeks your views on particular aspects of your education and training. This questionnaire is accessible here https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/ChildcarePractitioners
If you are an employer or owner in the early years sector, by completing a detailed questionnaire intended to obtain your views on your experience in relation to early years education. The questionnaire is accessible here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/ChildcareEmployers
All information provided in responses to the surveys and submissions will be treated in the strictest confidence and will not be shared or used for any other purposes. All information is provided on an anonymous basis.
The deadline for receipt of all survey responses and submissions is 10th April 2015

If any of the students found a USB key with flowers on it in the computer room yesterday, please make contact with us here. It belongs to one of the BA HONS students, and her entire year of work is on it, including her thesis and lesson plans. It is extremely important that she get this back. Thank you.
