Clare Adult Education Service Community Music Project Clare Adult and Community Education Service volunteer music project Would you be willing to volunteer as a tutor? We are looking forward to meeting you.

The Adult and Community Education Service in County Clare is initiating a volunteer project to involve its community of adult learners in music. The project aims to provide introductory music lessons for adults who have had little or no interaction with music and to share the satisfaction that participation in music can bring. The project will foster relationships between tutors and learners and g

ive learners the confidence to pursue further potential involvement in music. We are interested in all genres and aspects of music, song and dance from traditional Irish fiddle playing to a basic introduction to reading music to demonstrations in Nepalese instrument making! We would like to work with musicians (whatever your experience), music teachers and music organisations in Clare to help encourage the wide range of musical diversity in the county, share skills and culture and create new connections. Volunteer tutors will receive a certificate of participation as well as the reward of working with learners who actively want to increase their knowledge. You can support this project by:

• Volunteering to tutor 1-1 or in a small group for 1/2hr. per week for a number of weeks
• Delivering a one-off workshop to a group of learners
• Loaning or donating resources including instruments, music books, work sheets, song books
• Providing sponsorship for instruments, music books, work sheets, song books
• Contacting us and offering advice

An initial training course will be provided where tutors will have the opportunity to informally discuss ideas, teaching and learning experiences. An information evening will take place on Wednesday 25th September, 7.00-8.00pm. Laura Ugur
