Academic Writing Centre, NUI Galway

Academic Writing Centre, NUI Galway The Academic Writing Centre offers free one-on-one tutorials on academic writing to all NUI Galway students.

We provide assistance with essays, short assignments, reports, and the general development of writing skills. The Centre is a free drop-in facility where students can come and work on a one-to-one basis with qualified tutors. Our tutors have been trained to help students get started, organise, and clarify ideas, as well as fine-tune their writing in terms of grammar or spelling. Students are advis

ed to bring their written work (which may be a completed assignment, a rough draft, or notes) to the session, which will last 20-40 minutes on a one-to-one basis.

We admit to Tweeting a lot more than 'status updating'. We tried doing both things at once, but it doesn't quite work. Each space has its own audience and method of engagement. So tell me, dear Facebook people, what kind of posts would you like us to create here? Links to articles on writing? Random thoughts on writing? Other interesting things that you could suggest?

This write-in is for anyone working on a dissertation. The idea of a write-in is simple: students come in to work on their projects; a writing instructor is on hand to answer questions (quietly if there are few people, and silently through a white-board or email, if there are more than 4 people). 5-...
