AMR is a social enterprise aimed at building strong community relationshi

2. To provide free ‘hands-off’ workshops, where volunteer workshop facilitators will verbally instruct and guide visitors on how to repair their bike.

3. To bring many different groups together, including members of NUI Galway and the wider Galway City community, with a focus on youth and those on lower incomes, among other vulnerable groups of society.

4. To enable, empower and encourage people, whilst providing a friendly service, to tie in with other green and community initiatives.

5. Promoting health benefits of cycling as a mode of transport.

6. To help green and community initiatives in Galway and develop a positive community/university atmosphere and interaction.

We're very excited to launch Rotharlann: The Kids Bike Library Club! 🎉

A huge thank you to everyone who helped bring this project to life, and to all the schools and kids who have already taken part 🧡

Our bike library works just like a book library. Sign up, borrow a fully refurbished bike and when your child outgrows it, simply return it and swap it for the next size up!

By giving pre-loved bikes a second life, we're reducing waste, keeping bikes out of sheds and landfills and making cycling more affordable for families. It's a simple way to help more children stay active, build confidence, enjoy the outdoors and access sustainable transport while protecting the environment 🌍

There is no membership fee, but you can choose to purchase a helmet, lock or lights! 🔒💡Bikes are loaned for up to 12 months, with the option to extend or return earlier if needed.

Together, we're making cycling more accessible, affordable and sustainable for children across Galway 🚴✨

If you or your school are interested in taking part, email Grainne at [email protected] for more information!

We had a great day in Fr Burke Park on Saturday working alongside fixing bikes for free! 🚲

Although it rained, we had plenty of bikes to service and an ice cream or two to eat in between🍦

A big thank you to the lads at Claddagh Credit Union for having us! It's great to see other Galway based businesses working through co-operation and community 🧡

If you're looking to get a new bike, you should check out their Special Bike Loan which has great repayment rates 💸

If you already have a bike and it's causing you some hassle, drop it into us and one of our experienced mechanics will get it fixed right up 🔧

Feeling incredibly grateful 🙌

A huge thank you to for supporting An Mheitheal Rothar through the Dormant Accounts Fund Growing Social Enterprise Grant 🚲✨

This funding has helped us transform AMR into more organized and productive spaces. From tools and much needed storage for our shop refit, to plants and paint for our office space, AMR is looking and functioning so much better 🌱🛠️

It’s amazing what a difference the right environment can make for our team and community. Go raibh míle maith agaibh! 🧡
