Many of you have attended Maynooth University's Coderdojo sessions in the past. We are pleased to announce that these sessions have now evolved to be part of the CodeClub brand, which is part of the Raspberry Pi Foundation.
At Code Clubs, young people learn to code, build websites, create animations and games, and explore technology in an informal, creative, and social environment. They also have the opportunity to develop important life skills such as communication and critical thinking.
This semester, we plan to run 6 introductory sessions to CodeClub. This will be in two 3-week blocks. The first block will begin Tuesday 24th February from 6pm until 7:30pm and lasts for three weeks (24th February, 3rd March and 10th March). We will then resume for the second batch on the 13th April. All sessions will take place in the Eolas Building (Lab 003/4/5) at Maynooth University. This is the same room as any previous sessions you may have attended.
We recommended CodeClub for students aged 8-15. For any students 12 or under, a parent or guardian will need to remain in attendance for the session. For those 13 or older, the parents can choose to remain or not. If you are interested, please fill out the below form. We will be in touch with final details on or before Monday 23rd February.
If interested, please fill out the below form once per student attending. We are limited to 90 places and the form will close once that number is reached, at which point we will take waitlist interest via email. Please do spread the word to any friends / colleagues who might be interested. If you have any questions at all, feel free to let us know.
