Dr Fergus Ryan of the Department of Law, Maynooth University, recently spoke at the University of Limerick on the topic of Adoption Law and in Waterford Institute of Technology on the topic of LGBTI Rights after the Marriage Referendum. Fergus was an invited guest lecturer on the Child Law module at UL, and spoke at the invitation of the FLAC Society in WIT.

SILKEN THOMAS INTERVARSITY MOOT COURT COMPETITION 2015
This year will be the 5th year of the Maynooth University Law Society Moot Court Competition, the Silken Thomas. Last year, the Silken Thomas won 'Best University Event' and 'Best International Event' at Maynooth University's 2014 Clubs and Societies Awards and this year's competition is on course to surpass all of our previous competitions, with competitors representing the most prestigious law schools in Ireland, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Malta. The preliminary rounds of the competition will take place on Friday, 27 March 2015, with the final rounds taking place on Saturday, 28 March 2015.
