🎶 We didn’t go to the Zach Bryan concert - but our classroom Room 11 did!

On the 20th and 21st of June, country music star Zach Bryan played two sold-out nights at Páirc Uí Chaoimh in Cork. Our Raspberry Shake seismometer here in Room 11 picked up the seismic signal from the crowds - over 25km away!

According to the Irish National Seismic Network (INSN), Zach Bryan’s encore “Revival” was so powerful it was detected more than 125km away - in Kerry, Wexford and Tipperary. Zach Bryan’s crowd even out-shook Metallica, who were playing in Dublin the same night! 🤘

A special shout-out to INSN technical officer Paddy Smith for spotting our data, alongside our friends at Coláiste Éamonn Rís 👏

*Change of Date* Parents Association Uniform/Tracksuit Swap/Donation Event
Thank you to all the parents/guardians who have donated no longer needed items of school uniform/tracksuit. Once again we are overwheleme by the generosity of our school community.

Please note the collection date for parents to come in to the school and collect whatever items of uniform/tracksuit they require FREE OF CHARGE has changed from tomorrow June 23rd to Thursday June 25th between 9 and 11 am. Parents Association School Uniform and Tracksuit swap/donation event
Following on from the success of last years event St Colman's Parents association will be running a School Uniform and Tracksuit swap/donation event this year. Parents will be able to drop in items of no longer needed school uniform/tracksuit to the school reception from Tuesday June 2nd to Monday June 22nd between 9am and 3pm. All items must be washed and in good condition. On Tuesday June 23rd parents will be able to come in to the school from 9-11 to collect whatever items of uniform/tracksuit they require FREE OF CHARGE. 3rd Year English revising The Merchant of Venice. Students worked collaboratively to engage critically and make connections with the main themes, characters and key quotations. Lots of reflection work done too, in preparation for their upcoming exams.

As Wellbeing Week comes to an end and our 6th years head into their final week of school, they have received the ‘Letter to My Future Self’ they wrote back in September 2024 in their SPHE class. How does their September 2024 self compare to who they are today? Have their hopes, dreams and goals come true? We wish all our 6th years the very best for the future as they begin this exciting new chapter.
