LOETB Portlaoise Institute Further Education College Based in Portlaoise. We currently offer over 17 full-time Post-Leaving Certificate courses.

Portlaoise Institute provides programmes delivered by a team of tutors dedicated to the highest standards of teaching and learning. Our aim is ensure every student reaches their full potential. All of our courses carry nationally and internationally recognised certification and provide learners with the opportunity to progress to further study through the Higher Education Links Scheme. Our courses equip students with the skillset to change career, seek employment or to continue their studies in Universities and Institutes of Technologies.

🎓 Our Special Guest – Jeandre Pelser 🌟

We were delighted to welcome former Portlaoise Institute student Jeandre Pelser as our special guest at our second Graduation Ceremony.

Jeandre was an exceptional student during his time at Portlaoise Institute, achieving an outstanding 9 distinctions on his course and being named Student of the Year. 🏆👏

Since graduating, Jeandre has continued to build on his success and is currently completing a BA (Hons) in Psychology at Carlow College. 🎓

It was fantastic to have Jeandre return to Portlaoise Institute and share his journey with our graduates. His achievements are a wonderful example of the opportunities that can follow from a Further Education pathway.

These programmes allow you to begin your degree at Portlaoise Institute before completing the final two or three years at SETU’s Carlow campus.

✅ No CAO points required
✅ Enrol once you meet the minimum eligibility requirements
✅ No fees for Year 1 at Portlaoise Institute
✅ SUSI grant eligibility for subsequent years

Our special guest at this year’s Graduation Ceremony, Cleo Knight, certainly inspired our graduates with her story and achievements. 🎓👏

Cleo used the Further Education pathway as a stepping stone to a successful career in education. She is now a full-time lecturer and coordinator of a Bachelor of Business and Psychology degree programme — a fantastic example of where Further Education can lead! 🌟

We were delighted to hear Cleo share her journey with our graduates and highlight the opportunities that are available through Further Education.

We would like to wish Cleo the very best of luck this October, when she will proudly represent Offaly in the Ms Ireland Pageant. 👑🇮🇪
