🚧 Site Visit: Adare Bypass Project 🚧

MTU Kerry Civil Engineering students had an incredible opportunity today to visit the Adare Bypass site — a major infrastructure project shaping the future of transport in the region.

Huge thanks to Sisk Sorensen JV for hosting us and to Andrew for the engaging and detailed presentation. The close-up access to the works and insights into the engineering challenges and solutions were truly inspiring.

Experiences like this bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world application. 👷‍♂️📐🌍

Congratulations to this group of Phase 6 Agricultural Mechanics students.
This marks a special moment, as they are the final group of apprenticeship students to be trained here at our centre on the South Campus.

For over 40 years, the South Campus has served as the only training centre in Ireland for Phase 4 and Phase 6 SOLAS Mechanics.

In September, we will begin a new chapter as we move into our brand new, state-of-the-art facility on the North Campus.

Wondering what it’s like to study Agricultural Engineering at MTU?

On this week’s Youngstock Podcast, graduate Peter Folan shares his journey with machinery expert Gary Abbott from the Irish Farmers Journal. At Munster Technological University, Peter enjoyed a perfect balance between theory and hands-on learning, gaining practical experience with engines, hydraulics, electrics, GPS precision engineering, and farm machinery.

Not only did Peter develop valuable technical skills and industry insights, but he also built lifelong friendships along the way. After successful roles with companies such as Tanco and Vantage Ireland, Peter is now looking forward to an exciting new role as a product demonstrator with CNH.

Hear Peter's full story and discover how MTU’s Agricultural Engineering programme could kickstart your career too:

🌾🚜 A Proud Day at MTU Kerry! 🚜🌾

The Agricultural Engineering Department at MTU Kerry was thrilled to host a special event for Geary’s Garage , celebrating the exciting launch of the new John Deere M Series tractors! 🌟

We were honoured to welcome Michael Healy-Rae , Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, who officially cut the ribbon and delivered a powerful and heartfelt speech.

Drawing from his own roots, Minister Healy-Rae reflected on how his grandfather began with nothing more than a horse and a single-furrow plough – a striking reminder of how far Irish agriculture has come. He praised MTU Kerry’s proud legacy in agricultural education and highlighted the essential role we play in shaping the future of the sector.

He also commended Geary’s Garage for their outstanding commitment to the next generation, offering unrivalled support and access to cutting-edge agricultural equipment for both Ag Engineering students and SOLAS Apprenticeship learners.
A huge thank you to everyone who made this day such a success – the future of farming is bright, and it’s built on tradition, innovation, and strong partnerships. 🌱
