Hard to believe it's already been one week since the Kerry Biodiversity Conference 2026 in An Cuan, MTU North Campus. We are still buzzing after hosting such a wonderful event and showcasing all the phenomenal conservation research that's being conducted on the variety of habitats and species around Kerry.
On behalf of the whole Wildlife Biology team, we would like to say a massive thank you to each and every person who helped bring this event together.
Thank you to for such a wonderful opening speech which included an inspiring message to our students regarding their vital role in the future of our biodiversity. Thank you to Liam Lysaght of .biodiversity.week for his key note speaker presentation on the uniqueness of Kerry's biodiversity.
Bualadh bos for each and every one of our speakers on the day who shared their incredible conservation research with us and also to those who set up stands in the foyer to showcase their organisations.
Thank you to our collaborators especially Eleanor Turner, and all who helped with everything from audio visual tech to event equipment and of course the all important catering (yum!).
A special thank you to everyone who came on the day (and on Saturday too!). It was heartwarming to see so many past and present Wildlife Biology students (and future students!), past and present Nature Conservation students, members of local biodiversity groups, amongst so many others with a passion for our wildlife biodiversity.
Apologies if we've forgotten anyone, it really was a big team effort. Go raibh míle maith agaibh go léir.
