Preserving a Legacy of Knowledge and Culture

Today, Ariel University marked the dedication of a remarkable book collection donated by Dr. Avraham Hakim z”l, a scholar, translator, and Israeli cultural figure deeply committed to Arabic language, literature, Islam, and Middle Eastern studies.

The dedication ceremony was attended by members of Dr. Hakim’s family, together with Ariel University President Prof. Ehud Grossman, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities Prof. U*i Ben-Shalom, Head of the Department of Middle Eastern Studies and Political Science Prof. Gadi Hitman, senior academic leadership, faculty members, students, and library staff.

Over many years, Dr. Hakim carefully assembled a unique collection of approximately 6,000 volumes from across the Arab world. Before his passing, he chose to donate this important collection to Ariel University’s library, ensuring that future generations of students and researchers would continue to benefit from his lifelong commitment to scholarship.

The collection will significantly enrich the work of the Department of Middle Eastern Studies, providing access to rare and valuable literature that will deepen academic research, learning, and cultural understanding.

This meaningful gift stands as a lasting tribute to Dr. Hakim’s dedication to knowledge, dialogue, and education.

May his memory be a blessing.

A national milestone for Ariel University and medical education in Israel.

The Ruth and Conrad Morris Medical Simulation Center at Ariel University has been selected by Israel’s Ministry of Health, through a national tender, to deliver mandatory medical simulation workshops for medical students before they begin their internship year.

This important workshop supports one of the most critical transitions in medical training: from medical school to supervised clinical practice.

The selection of Ariel University’s Medical Simulation Center, alongside Sheba Medical Center’s simulation center, marks a meaningful expansion of Israel’s national medical training infrastructure and reflects Ariel University’s growing role in preparing the next generation of physicians.

This achievement is the result of years of institutional investment, professional development, and strong academic collaboration with the Adelson School of Medicine, the Department of Nursing, and our broader academic and clinical partners.

We are proud to help shape the future of medical training in Israel, with a focus on clinical judgment, communication, teamwork, patient safety, and professional excellence.
