When you’re a student at BGU International, the Welcome Center is always full of activities that bring people together and make campus life feel a little more like home 🌍💙

So what have we been up to lately?
Delicious breakfast mornings to start the day right, creative Arts & Crafts sessions, fun board game evenings, and an especially meaningful and inspiring talk by an October 7 survivor who shared a powerful personal story with our students.

Although we celebrated Independence a few days ago, the celebrations are still going strong at the Welcome Center- especially for our students! 🥳

So…… we went out to see how our students celebrate independence in their own countries. ! 🌏✨

Holocaust Remembrance Day 🕯

Yesterday, at the Welcome Center, we marked Holocaust Remembrance Day - a day in Israel dedicated to commemorating the six million Jews who were murdered in Europe during World War II.

The Welcome Center hosted Daniel Schwab, who shared a moving testimony about letters exchanged between a son who managed to escape and his parents who remained trapped in N**i Germany - a powerful story of survival and hope against all odds.

At BGU, we are proud of students who remain committed to their academic journey even in challenging times!

Our student Hiba , a PhD candidate from Morocco, was recently featured in the Israeli media for her inspiring story of perseverance during the current security situation in Israel.

Like many international students at BGU, Hiba continues her studies while navigating the realities of sirens and security alerts - demonstrating resilience, determination, and a deep commitment to academic inquiry

Hiba’s story reflects the spirit of our international community and the strong support network provided to students through the BGU Welcome Center for International Students and Researchers.

👏 We are proud of Hiba and of the many international students who continue to pursue knowledge, research, and meaningful impact at BGU, in Israel and beyond!
