Haifa University Model United Nations University of Haifa Model United Nations (HaifaMUN) MUN is practiced as an exclusive extracurricular academic activity in schools and universities worldwide.

Model United Nations is a student-led extracurricular academic program, run on a volunteer basis by students, that simulates the activities of the UN’s bodies and committees, other international bodies such as the European Union, NATO and more. Such simulations model themselves on the work of the Security Council, General Assembly, ICJ, and other international organizations. Participants research

a country other than their own and assume its personality to debate, deliberate, consult, create coalitions. By doing so, students simulate real life diplomatic and legal activity while discussing to find the best solutions to various global issues. In our society, for the first time in history, MUN society was recognized as an academic course under the School of Political Science. Ever since than it is lead both by students and leading professors in the School of Political Science. Our MUN society holds weekly meetings in campus, in which the same activity is simulated.

Yesterday, we had the honor of welcoming Gabriel to our meeting at the Model United Nations Club at the University of Haifa.
The session was filled with insightful discussions, meaningful dialogue, and valuable perspectives on diplomacy, leadership, and international affairs. Our delegates had the opportunity to engage, ask thoughtful questions, and gain inspiration from real experiences beyond the committee room.

Our first frontal meeting of the second semester was everything we missed and more: laughter filling the room, excitement in the air, and the feeling of finally being together again❤️
We were also thrilled to officially welcome our new leading lecturer and start a brand new chapter together with fresh ideas, new energies, and an exciting new ECOSOC simulation🌍
And of course… it wouldn’t be complete without some PIZZA, KNAFEH and endless conversations🤤

A throwback from one of our previous Model UN gatherings💙
The past weeks have not been easy. Between war, uncertainty, and the distance created by exams and the semester break, our activities have been temporarily paused.
We’re planning to resume on March 22 and look forward to coming back together soon.
Coming back to Model UN reminds us why spaces for dialogue, leadership, and international understanding matter more than ever.
Our staff and students wish everyone safety during this time.

Our fifth meeting marks our second simulation of the year – and this time, we stepped into history.
Before diving into the committee, we kicked off with a focused workshop to sharpen our skills, review procedures, and prepare for a historical simulation experience.
From understanding the context to practicing real diplomatic strategy, our students are continuously growing, learning, and challenging themselves.
We’re excited to see how this session unfolds – resolutions, debates, negotiations and all.

Our fourth meeting continued the IAEA committee simulation from our third session.
Delegates engaged in in-depth debate, negotiations, and successfully submitted their resolutions, demonstrating diplomacy in action. 🌍📜
