How can Jewish education strengthen identity, belonging, and resilience in a time of rising antisemitism and global uncertainty?

The Hebrew University of Jerusalem hosted the first-ever International Conference on Jewish Education in Israel and the Diaspora, bringing together scholars, educators, and communal leaders from around the world, organized by the International MA in Jewish Education at the Melton Centre for Jewish Education.

The conference explored educational responses to antisemitism, Jewish peoplehood, Israel–Diaspora relations, resilience after October 7, and the growing role of AI in Jewish learning.

Now more than ever, Israel and the Jewish people need passionate advocates ready to make a difference.

Last night, 100 Nitzavim Fellows from 25 gap-year programs gathered for the Nitzavim Fellowship Fifth Annual Impact Project Showcase, marking the end of a transformative gap year in partnership with the Rothberg International School (RIS) at Hebrew University and Masa.

Throughout the academic year, these fellows awakened their Jewish identities, deepened their connection to Israel, and learned to combat antisemitism on college campuses across North America.

The Nitzavim Fellowship, founded in 2021 by Rabbi Adi Isaacs, Hebrew University, and the Schwartz Brothers, continues to develop the next generation of Jewish leaders committed to making a real difference globally. 🌍 ✡️

The Hebrew University of Jerusalem community shares the grief of the Sapir family following the death of Res. Maj. Itamar Sapir, who fell in battle in Lebanon. Itamar was a student at our School of Engineering and Computer Sciences as well as in the Department of Statistics and Data Science in the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University.

We extend our deepest condolences to his family and friends.
