🌍🔬 Registration is now open for the 3rd Bridges of Science Meeting!

Join us on January 11, 2027 at the Weizmann Institute to hear from this year's BoS fellows, IMPH alumnus Sangwe Clovis, and leading researchers across disciplines.

The Bridges of Science Research (BoS) Program, a collaboration between the Weizmann Institute and the International Master of Public Health (IMPH) Program at the Hebrew University–Hadassah Braun School of Public Health and Community Medicine, offers exceptional IMPH graduates from sub-Saharan Africa short-term training in advanced basic science research.

This annual meeting marks the conclusion of the latest BoS program, bringing participants and leading scientists together to share research and build connections.

On September 16, we proudly celebrated the graduation of our 51st International Master of Public Health cohort at Hadassah Ein Kerem in Jerusalem—a joyful milestone marking an intensive year of hard work, learning, and achievement.

We were honored to have keynote addresses given by Prof. Dina Ben Yehuda and Dr. Jordan Kyongo, IMPH alumnus (2009) and Senior Program Officer at the Gates Foundation.

To our graduates: you brought your experience, perspectives, and dedication to Jerusalem, learned alongside colleagues from around the world, and built friendships that will last far beyond this year. ✨IMPH 51 — What an incredible year it’s been! 🇮🇱🌍

As we count down to graduation this Wednesday, we’re looking back at some of the unforgettable moments from the 2025–2026 cohort. From exploring Northern and Southern Israel, to visits to MADA, Shalva, and the Israel Museum, this year has been filled with learning, discovery, adventure, and connection.

The IMPH provides an opportunity unlike any other—to study alongside public health professionals from around the globe while experiencing Israel, traveling across the country, learning from incredible organizations and public health leaders, and building friendships and bonds that will last a lifetime. 💙

🎉 Congratulations to Prof. Ted Tulchinsky!
We are delighted to share that Prof. Ted Tulchinsky, Professor Emeritus at the Braun School of Public Health, Hebrew University–Hadassah, has been named the 2026 recipient of APHA’s Victor Sidel and Barry Levy Award for Peace.
The award recognizes Ted’s decades of extraordinary work advancing health diplomacy and Israeli-Palestinian cooperation in public health, including efforts to prevent infectious diseases, strengthen vaccination programs, and improve maternal and child health.
A wonderful and richly deserved recognition of a remarkable career devoted to public health, cooperation, and peace. Mazal tov, Ted!

🌍 Meet IMPH Cohort 51: Julien David Kentish 🇦🇬

Julien David Kentish, from Antigua and Barbuda, is a health leader, Registered Nurse, Chartered Director, and humanitarian whose career spans clinical care, healthcare administration, governance, public service, and community development.

Currently pursuing his International Master of Public Health at the Hebrew University-Hadassah Braun School of Public Health and Community Medicine, Julien is passionate about strengthening health systems and advancing prevention-focused public health across Small Island Developing States.🌴🏥

His master's research explores a Healthy Family Feeding Programme aimed at reducing childhood obesity by promoting healthy nutrition during the first 1,000 days of life. By equipping healthcare workers and empowering parents with practical feeding knowledge, the programme seeks to foster healthier families from preconception through early childhood.

After graduation, Julien plans to return home to Antigua and Barbuda to help implement innovative public health programmes, strengthen health governance, and contribute to national and regional health policy.

🌍✨ IMPH51 Student Spotlight: Meet Dr. Nkeiruka Blessing Abanaka! 🇳🇬🩺💙

As we continue introducing the inspiring members of , who are completing an intensive and transformative year in the International Master of Public Health (IMPH) program and preparing for graduation this September, we're delighted to introduce Dr. Nkeiruka Blessing Abanaka from Nigeria!

Dr. Abanaka is a Medical Doctor and Public Health Professional with more than a decade of experience in clinical practice and primary health care. Her work has focused on HIV prevention and treatment, tuberculosis care, epidemic outbreak response, and disease control.

🏥 Currently serving as a State Clinical Mentor with Caritas Catholic Foundation of Nigeria (CCFN), she supports HIV service delivery, clinical mentorship, public health interventions, and health systems strengthening across healthcare facilities throughout Nigeria.

📚 Through the IMPH program at the Braun School of Public Health, Dr. Abanaka is further strengthening her expertise in public health practice, health systems, and disease prevention. She looks forward to applying these skills to advance healthcare delivery and improve outcomes for communities in Nigeria and beyond.
