As an integral part of Notre Dame International’s global network, the Global Gateway in Jerusalem aspires to be an entrepreneurial, diverse and influential academic platform that leaves a positive and lasting impact on the region through a menu of initiatives that also offer opportunities for Notre Dame students and faculty to explore and learn in Jerusalem and beyond. pportunities for Notre Dame to engage the world and the world to engage Notre Dame through scholarly collaboration, undergraduate and graduate study, as well as cooperative programs with governments, foundations, corporations, alumni, parents, and friends of the University. The University of Notre Dame at Tantur (UNDT) was introduced in 2018, unifying and facilitating the academic initiatives of the Tantur Ecumenical Institute (TEI) and the Jerusalem Global Gateway (JGG) on behalf of the University’s efforts in the Holy Land. Since 1985, undergraduate students from Notre Dame have studied in the Holy Land and lived at Tantur. The undergraduate program was formalized in 2014 through the establishment of the JGG, and today the undergraduate program is a flagship program of the University of Notre Dame at Tantur. Other programs facilitated through UNDT include faculty research, academic conferences and workshops for Notre Dame faculty, international scholars and local collaborators, sabbatical opportunities, and partnerships building and joint research opportunities with regional universities, faith-based institutions, and NGOs. The University of Notre Dame at Tantur is one of eleven global locations led by Notre Dame International. Learn more about our projects: https://jerusalem.nd.edu/programs/

Palm Sunday is the moment when the global Church turns its attention to the small Christian community in the Holy Land.🌿

There is no need to romanticize or instrumentalize this community. Nor is there any reason for the global Church to feel hesitant about caring for it as for brothers and sisters in faith, especially these days. People here need you.

At the same time, there is no contradiction between caring for one’s own community and caring for one’s neighbors and fellow global citizens. Both belong together.

The image was taken in the Tantur chapel✝️ . We wish our friends and partners a blessed Holy Week.

🎓 University of Notre Dame at the La Salle Jerusalem Open Day

This week, the University of Notre Dame - Notre Dame Jerusalem participated in the La Salle Jerusalem Open Day, meeting students from Catholic schools and other leading institutions from Jerusalem.

Our team highlighted Notre Dame’s need-blind admissions for international students and our pre-college offerings, including our newly introduced Jerusalem-based pre-college gap year program, ADAM. It was especially unique, because ND alumn, Adam Salek, joined forces and shared his perspectives and experiences.

It was a great day of connecting with future leaders. Thank you to all the participating schools!

“I believe that those with the capability to create economic value must also be catalysts for pervasive societal change. But bridging the gap between ambition and implementation, particularly in dynamic geopolitical landscapes, is no small feat. That’s why the RBE program was such a fantastic inclusion to my educational endeavors at the University of Notre Dame.” - Mark Giesey, MBA ’25 student at the Mendoza College of Business
Mark participated in the Reimagining Business Excellence (RBE) program in summer 2024 and shared his reflections.
