“My name is Lauren Allen, I’m originally from Scarsdale NY and I attended Amit in 2013-2014. I never thought in a million years that I’d make aliyah, but during my year in Amit I fell in love with life in Israel and couldn’t imagine my future anywhere else. I was set to go to college at Johns Hopkins, but after one semester there I knew in my heart that I really needed to be in Israel. I transferred to Reichman University (it was then IDC Herzliya) and a few months after moving here I met a lone soldier at a random Shabbat meal who became my husband! We live with our two beautiful children in Givat Shmuel. I work as a nutrition coach specializing in women’s hormonal health and fertility, helping women all over the world who struggle with hormone imbalances and infertility. I am grateful every single day for my time at Amit, for showing me what true chessed is, allowing me to experience the most beautiful parts of life in Israel, and being an incredible source of support for me when I moved here! My life would truly not be the same if I hadn’t gone to Amit!”.

Meet Our Alum Olim! 💙🇮🇱

“Hi! My name is Hila Fisher, I attended Amit in 2016- 17 as part of the Bnei Akiva Torani programme. I grew up in London, always wanting to make aliyah, and my year at amit only strengthened that desire! After completing my bachelors in London I made Aliyah to Jerusalem, starting with a few months in ulpan and then I started working as an Occupational Therapist in a hospital and special needs school. I’m currently finishing a masters degree at Bar Ilan university and got married a few months ago. My year at amit was super influential for me and am so grateful to say I’m still close with girls that I met there and even still learn with one of my teachers! ❤️🇮🇱”

“My year at Midreshet Amit was the year I fell in love with Israel and made the best decision of my life- to make Aliyah and establish my life in the most incredible country on Earth 🇮🇱.

The year post seminary I had the amazing opportunity to do my official Sherut Leumi at Bet Hayeled and become a madricha at Amit the year after; creating memories and friends which will last a lifetime.❤️

I completed my BA in business and marketing and went on to work at 'Ma'agalim', an organization which empowers at risk teens in Israel's periphery.

Today, I live near Haifa (right near the beach 🏖️) with my hubby and 2 adorable (very Israeli) kids- 7 and 4 years old.

Thankful every day that this is the place I get to call home (yes, even in 2024 in the midst of a war 😍😌)”

Meet Our Alum Olim 💙🇮🇱💙

“Hey! My name is Sara (Fruchter) Grundwerg and I was a student at Midreshet Amit 2016-2017. My deep love for Israel was cultivated during my year in seminary. I learned from incredible teachers who taught us about Eretz Yisroel and the importance of the land. Ever since my year in Israel I wanted to make aliyah. After returning to America and completing a bachelors degree and masters degree at Yeshiva University , I got on a charter flight and finally came home! I feel so grateful for Amit and really leaned on them throughout my aliyah process. I still am very close with many of my teachers there and visit often 💗

I now am living in Jerusalem with my husband and am working as an Admissions Coordinator, assisting students in seminary who are returning back to YU for college. I’m so grateful for my life here and for the journey Amit helped me with in getting here 😍”

Aliza Buzelan (Cano) - Class of 2021-22

“My name is Aliza Buzelan, I’m 20 and from Montreal. After finishing seminary at Amit, where I can honestly say I was shaped into who I am now, I decided to make Aliyah and did a year of Sherut leumi. My Sherut was working with kids on the spectrum in an elementary school in Yerushalayim. That year was one of the most amazing experiences and one of the best ways to integrate into Israeli culture. After that I did a year of Mechina at Bar Ilan university, which I just completed and I recently got married. My husband is Israeli and he just finished the army. BH we will be moving to Eli where my husband will be at yeshiva and I will continue my studies.” 💙🇮🇱

Meet Our AMIT Alum Olim 💙🇮🇱💙🇮🇱💙

“Hi I am Huvi Breuer. I made Aliyah with my family for my sophomore year of high school. I then joined my American friends for a year of “American Sem” at AMIT. After a wonderful year of learning, growing spiritually and exploring Israel, I got ready to fulfill my commitment to Israel and I drafted to the IDF. I joined the combat artillery unit (תותחנים). With the events of Oct 7th occurring only a month into my basic training, the young people of Israel stepped up to the challenge. My unit is now serving Israel from different border communities in the Gaza region working together with soldiers on the inside. Being a religious female in a combat unit has pushed me to strengthen my faith. When there is a synagogue on base, I attend services. On Shabbat I am often the only girl keeping shabbos, along with a boy or two in our group of 70.”

Kol Hakavod Huvi! We are so proud. 💙
