Prof. Asnat Bar Haim Erez and Prof. Assaf Lev Appointed Associate Professors
Ono Academic College is pleased and proud to announce the appointments of Asnat Bar Haim Erez and Assaf Lev, both members of the School of Health Professions, to the rank of Associate Professor.
Prof. Assaf Lev, Vice Dean for Research and a faculty member in the Department of Sports Therapy, conducts research in the anthropology and sociology of sport, the body, and physical exertion, as well as in the sociology of physiology, focusing on experiences of pain, endurance, identity, and meaning among athletes and trainees. As a former professional basketball player and distance runner, he brings a deep understanding of the world of sports to his research. His research seeks to understand not only how the body functions, but also how people experience, interpret, and give meaning to physical exertion and athletic performance.
Prof. Asnat Bar Haim Erez is a leading researcher and clinician in the field of occupational therapy, with her work combining, throughout her professional career, academic-applied research with clinical work. Osnat's experience in the field of occupational therapy is extensive, from the rehabilitation of stroke patients in which she worked in the past to the diagnosis and rehabilitation of cancer patients in the present. As part of this research, she developed a groundbreaking treatment protocol for occupational therapy intervention in the rehabilitation of breast cancer patients. Her academic achievements are reflected in the rich number of publications and in extensive research collaborations with researchers at leading universities in the world.
We should also note that these two appointments are the first made by the Higher Appointments Committee of Ono Academic College, after it received authorization from the National Academy of Sciences to grant professorships independently in light of the College’s exceptional academic achievements.
