Congratulations to Dr. Yehonatan Shiman, Head of the Law Program at Ono International School! 🎓

Dr. Shiman received the Ralph C. Hoeber Memorial Award for Outstanding Article from the Academy of Legal Studies in Business (ALSB).

His article, "The Politics of Oversight: Caremark, Corporate Purpose, and Delaware's Judicial Landscape," draws on an original dataset of Delaware court decisions in lawsuits claiming that directors failed to oversee their companies' operations. It finds that courts let these claims proceed about twice as often when corporate misconduct physically harms people rather than causing only financial loss, and that judges from different political backgrounds apply the law with striking consistency.

As our first law cohort arrives this November, this international recognition reflects the caliber of scholarship that will shape their education from day one.

Israel’s elections will take place on October 27, 2026. If this will be your first time voting in Israel, join us one week before Election Day for a live lecture on Zoom covering everything you need to know before casting your vote.

Prof. Tamar Hostovsky Brandes, an Associate Professor at Ono Academic College’s Faculty of Law, will explain how voting in Israel works, what to expect at the polling station, and how to prepare so you can cast your vote with confidence.

"The Event Is Not Over" is an exhibition currently on view at the School of Society and the Arts at Ono Academic College.

The exhibition brings together artworks by faculty members of the master’s program in Art Therapy, headed by Dr. Liat Shamri. Created during and in response to the 12-day war between Israel and Iran, known in Israel as Operation Rising Lion, the works reflect a conflict that continues to cast a long shadow.

For some of the artists, the creative process offered refuge and room to breathe amid an overwhelming and chaotic reality. For others, it became another way to process their clinical encounters and engage with their patients’ experiences.

The exhibition is on view at the gallery of the master’s program in Art Therapies, located on the fifth floor of Building C at Ono Academic College. It is open to the public.

Participating artists: Orly Balasha Ilan, Janice Shapira, Dr. Dan Pollak, Dr. Linda Kalman, Dr. Michal Weller, Dr. Michal Lev, Dr. Neta Ram-Vlasov, Nurit Volk, Anat Wolf, Pazit Doshi, Anat Ein Dor, Shavi Madzini, Dr. Keren Blumenthal-Yanir, Sharon Papai, and Sharon Goverg.

Dear Students and Faculty,

To mark three years since the October 7 massacre and the outbreak of the Iron Swords War in Gaza, Ono Academic College, in collaboration with the Student Union, will hold a memorial ceremony in the Tanna Schulich Hall.
October 6, 2026 | 13:00–14:00

The program will include:
● A screening of selected scenes from the documentary Find Me, Okay?, directed by Yula Gidron. The film tells the story of the late Eden Yerushalmi, who was abducted from the Nova Music Festival on October 7 and murdered while in Hamas captivity. The screening will be followed by a conversation between Dean of Students Dr. Shelly Magvar-Levin and Eden’s sister, Shani Yerushalmi, a student at Ono Academic College.

● A presentation of the Bizchutam project by Sharon and Itay Barak, students at Ono Academic College and the parents of Staff Sergeant Tomer Barak, who fell in the battle on October 7, 2023.

● The memorial prayer Yizkor, led by Rabbi Elchanan Danino, father of the late Ori Danino who was murdered in Hamas captivity after being abducted on October 7, 2023.

The event will also feature songs of remembrance and longing performed by the Ono Music Ensemble.

Dr. Sharon Vaisvaser and Dr. Yifat Shalem-Tzafri, from the Master's Program in Dance/Movement Therapy at Ono Academic College, presented their work at the European Consortium of Arts Therapies Education (ECArTE) conference, which took place in P**a, Croatia.

Dr. Shalem-Tzafri led an experiential workshop – "In the journey to the unconscious, movement can contain what is beyond the reach of thought and language", which explored the power of movement to contain, process and express unconscious experiences that are beyond the reach of thought and verbal language, and the possibilities for change that open up through the body and movement.

Dr. Vaisvaser presented her lecture "Pathways of Transformation: Neuroaesthetics of the Relational Embuded Journey in Creative Arts Therapies". The lecture explored the embodied aesthetic experience, as a path to connection, integration and change, while creating a dialogue between neuroscience and the interpersonal creative processes that are at the heart of arts therapies.

In addition, as part of the conference, Dr. Vaisvaser participated in the launching of the book "Singing in the Dark Times - Creation and Resistance in the Arts Therapies", in which she wrote the chapter "Neurodynamics of Embodied Resistance". The chapter was written following a workshop she gave at the previous ECArTE conference.

Their participation in the international conference reflects the movement between research, body, creativity and clinical practice that characterizes the field of Dance/Movement Therapy at Ono Academic College.

Congratulations to Dr. Hadas Tamam Ben-Avraham, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and the School of Science and Technology, on the approval of her doctoral dissertation at Bar-Ilan University.

Alongside her research, Hadas is an attorney, lecturer, and faculty member at Ono Academic College. She also heads the Research Institute for Cyber Risk Management and contributes to strategic initiatives, academic program development, and stronger connections between academia and industry.

We are proud to see our faculty members continue to grow, lead, and make an impact both in academia and in their professional fields.
