With a mix of students from political science to law, from psychology to biotechnology, the Society's demographics make it a 'mini UN' – with almost equal division between gender, religious/secular, international/native Israeli students – a microcosm of the BIU campus. Our society consists of 30 students, both foreign and Israeli, from a wide range of departments at the university including law, p
olitical science, communications, and social sciences. The goal, as aptly expressed by Ms. Chaya Esther Pomeranz, President of WUJS and the Society's founder, is "To provide students with practical leadership skills that they can use in the ever moving world of public diplomacy. In addition to the skills, the interaction with the international student body and current public figures provides them with important networks that will enrich their future career choices. I hope that BIUMUN helps to instill school pride within Bar-Ilan students, to participate in national and international competitions, to respectfully represent our university and bring back awards that will pay a tribute to our academic excellence. We want Bar-Ilan University to lead the introduction of Model UN in the Israeli academia, and represent Israel worldwide!
