היום נפתח רשמית ה-ICM – קונגרס המתמטיקאים הבינלאומי! 📐🇺🇸
למי שלא מכיר, מדובר באירוע החשוב והיוקרתי ביותר בעולם המתמטיקה, שנערך רק פעם בארבע שנים (מאז 1897!). זה המקום שבו מוצגות פריצות הדרך הגדולות ביותר ומוענקים כמה מהפרסים הכי נחשבים בתחום (מדליית פילדס בטקס הפתיחה של מחר נגיד... 👀)
והחלק הכי טוב? יש לנו נציגות מטורפת שם! שלושה מהמרצים שלנו – שירי ארטשטיין, וויצ'ך (וויטק) סאמוטי, ומיכאל ביאלי – מייצגים את המחלקה שלנו בכנס ההיסטורי הזה. בנוסף למיכל פלדמן ממדעי המחשב !
גאים בכם ומאחלים המון בהצלחה! ✈️ חגיגה למתמטיקה וגאווה מחלקתית.

The ICM – International Congress of Mathematicians – has officially opened today! 📐🇺🇸
For those unfamiliar, this is the single most important and prestigious event in the world of mathematics, held only once every four years (since 1897!). It is where major breakthroughs are presented and some of the field's highest awards are presented (like the Fields Medal, perhaps during tomorrow's opening ceremony... 👀).
And the best part? We have some serious representation there! Three of our faculty members – Shiri Artstein, Wojtek Samotij, and Michael Bialy – are representing our department at this historic gathering!
Michal Feldman from computer science represents as as well!
We are so proud and wish you all the best of luck! ✈️ A celebration of mathematics and departmental pride.
