הסדנה תונחה על ידי ד"ר דניס סיבקוב, מMoscow School of Social and Economic Sciences, ותתקיים ביום רביעי, 27.5, בשעה 11:30-10:00 בחדר 180 בבניין גילמן בשפה האנגלית.
הסדנה תעסוק בנושאים הבאים:
Over the past decade, anthropology has embraced the concept of multimodality, a framework that helps move beyond outdated disciplinary constraints. To “be multimodal” is to recognize that no study can be methodologically pure: methods are always intertwined. When you conduct an interview, you are also meeting with your interlocutor, and something significant may unfold in that very encounter. As a rule, the final research output draws on multiple investigative modes—observation, interviewing, diary analysis, archival work, video analysis, and so on.
Which methods and frameworks should we learn in the course of a research project? What unexpected combinations do we encounter? Are all methods truly compatible? This workshop invites participants to reflect on the disciplinary and methodological limits and possibilities we face, and to share their own cases of combining different research procedures.
