The greatest collision in Earth's history!

Ever wondered how towering mountains are born? They aren't just silent rocks; they are the result of a slow, violent clash between continental plates spanning millions of years.

When continents collide, immense tectonic pressure forces deep underground rock layers to buckle and rise into the sky, creating massive mountain ranges (just like the Himalayas!). ++

Can you believe these soaring peaks were once flat ground? Share your thoughts in the comments!

Human flight was strongly inspired by bird behaviour, especially how large birds like swans manage takeoff and landing despite their heavy bodies. Observers noticed that swans do not leap into the air; instead, they run along the water, spreading their wings to generate lift while gradually increasing speed. Early aircraft designers copied this idea by using long runways to build speed before takeoff. Similarly, swans slow down, spread their wings wide, and angle their bodies upward while landing - an action that inspired gliding descents and flaps in airplanes. Aircraft wings, control surfaces, and landing techniques evolved by studying how birds control airflow, balance, and lift, translating natural flight mechanics into engineering principles.

A frog's larva is called a tadpole. The transformation from a tadpole into an adult frog is known as metamorphosis. It is a drastic, abrupt biological change where a water-dwelling creature with a tail and gills turns into a land-dwelling creature with legs and lungs. The transformation occurs in four main stages:

Stage 1: Egg
Female frogs lay thousands of eggs in the water, clustered together in a jelly-like substance called spawn.

Stage 2: Tadpole (Larva)
The eggs hatch into tadpoles. At this stage, they look more like tiny fish: they have a long, flat tail for swimming and internal gills for breathing underwater. They are strictly aquatic and feed on algae and plants.

Stage 3: Froglet
As the tadpole grows, its body undergoes massive changes. The hind legs appear first, followed by the front legs. Lungs develop to allow the creature to breathe air, and the long tail begins to shrink as its nutrients are absorbed by the body.

Stage 4: Adult Frog
The tail disappears completely, and the mouth widens to allow it to eat insects. The frog is now a fully mature adult, capable of living on land and reproducing.
