IIM Ahmedabad, in collaboration with NITI Aayog, Gates Foundation, and Government of Gujarat, hosted an insightful NITI-SSM Workshop on SDG 5: Gender Equality at IIMA campus today. The event brought together state representatives from across India, policymakers, and development partners to accelerate through evidence-based action at the district level.

Smt. Annpurna Devi, Minister of Women and Child Development, Government of India, launched the SDG 5 State, Union Territories, and District Reports and emphasised the importance of quality data, robust ecosystems, tech-enabled monitoring systems and time-bound evaluations for dynamic policymaking. Dr. Manisha Vakil, Minister for Women and Child Development, Government of Gujarat; Dr. M. Srinivas, Member, NITI Aayog; Mr. Stefan Priesner, United Nations Resident Coordinator (UNRC), India; and Prof. Bharat Bhasker, Director, IIM Ahmedabad, among others, graced the Workshop and reports launch.

The granular, data-driven insights of the reports will serve as a tool for various stakeholders to identify regional disparities, monitor growth progress, prioritise interventions, and ensure targeted resource allocation, among other endeavours. The event also witnessed thought-provoking keynote addresses and panel discussions.

IIMA’s pioneering 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 (𝐈𝐌𝐑𝐂) is back for a thought-provoking, insightful third edition from December 4-6, 2026. A congregation of thought leaders, industry experts, research scholars, and academicians, will build on its rich legacy of fostering innovative research, exploring solutions to India-centric challenges, and enriching academic discourse.

Centred around the theme “𝑹𝒆𝒊𝒎𝒂𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑶𝒓𝒈𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒛𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔: 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑽𝒂𝒍𝒖𝒆-𝑪𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑨𝒈𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝑨𝑰”, this year’s IMRC will explore and shape a highly transformative discourse that is redefining the nature of organizations and modern workplaces in a rapidly changing digital and geopolitical landscape. IIMA welcomed 160 highly qualified professionals to the 21st batch of our coveted One-Year Post Graduate Programme in Management (MBA-PGPX).

The inaugural ceremony was held this morning in the presence of Professor Satish Deodhar, Dean (Faculty); Professor Diptesh Ghosh, Dean (Programmes); Professor Debjit Roy, Chairperson, MBA-PGPX; faculty members, and other officials of the Institute.
