𝗖𝗘𝗣𝗧 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝟱 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗦𝗜𝗥𝗙 𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟮

CEPT University has been rated 5 Stars in the Overall University category.

In 2018 the Government of Gujarat initiated Gujarat State Institutional Rating Framework (GSIRF), in line with the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), initiated by the Government of India. It was initiated with a vision of creating world class institutions of great eminence and excellence. A total of 38 Universities from across the state of Gujarat participated in GSIRF 2022. CEPT University participated in GSIRF 2022 for two categories namely University Category and Architecture Category.
This is the third time the University has participated in the GSIRF.

THEME
In the 21st century, the global immersion in technology has connected the world like never before, and technological impact is reaching even some of the most remote and impoverished areas of the world. As a consequence, the advancement and adoption of new technologies in all aspects of our society have profoundly changed how we design our environment to be healthy, liveable and equitable.

Computational design, simulation, analysis, fabrication, and management allow us to evaluate and forecast the performance of habitats with a deeper understanding of contexts.

Technology for social good is an agenda to articulate values, behaviours, and attitudes that focus on social impact – placing people at the focal point. In the context of a rapidly changing climate, it is has become evident that we are approaching a moment of no return; a moment in which our fate hangs in the balance. We as a species, and the societies we construct, must take immediate action and work collectively towards a brighter and more sustainable future.

CAADRIA2023 calls in particular for contributions addressing the conference theme by discussing the influence of technology on society, economy, environment, and governance pertaining to habitats where people are at the heart of the construction industry. We invite conversations and debate around key questions:

How do different computational design approaches contribute to the design, development and policy making of complex societies?

To what extent automation, machine intelligence and control of complex systems impact societal development?

How does the practical and real-world applications of computational research and technologies advance broader social well-being?

𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘀
A two-day pre-engineering workshop for students from 9th to 12th grade

Technology is changing the world rapidly and has the power to change the way of creation that we know. Building and testing models of bridges will encourage the study and application of the fundamentals of physics and engineering. This course provides exceptional hands-on experience in making and can create a spark of next-generation technology at a young age. Participants will understand how the concepts of engineering are applied and tested on scale models and testing devices. Automation and Internet of things (IoT) devices for monitoring will be introduced, demonstrated, and used for testing the bridges that they will make.

Participants will also get a glimpse of the Construction Technology Program at CEPT University and will be able to walk through the ongoing Exhibition.

The Summer Winter School (SWS) Program at CEPT is a unique platform for faculty members and professionals to share the knowledge, wherein students across the world can participate. It offers multiple interdisciplinary and diversified courses that are not possible during regular semesters.

SWS are now gearing up for Winter School 2021 (WS21) that shall commence from 20th December 2021 to 1st January 2022. The SWS office is now open to accept the proposals for courses to be offered for Winter School 2021.

𝗖𝗘𝗣𝗧 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲

Government of Gujarat has taken an in-principle decision to grant the status of Centre of Excellence (COE) to CEPT University, after a rigorous process that spanned over a year. CEPT is one of the seven universities recognized as Centers of Excellence.

Dr. Bimal Patel, President, CEPT University acknowledged this as a moment of pride for the entire CEPT community. Calling this step bold, Dr. Patel believes that it will deepen the culture of excellence in education in the state and serve as a model for other states to emulate; being in alignment with the ethos of the National Education Policy.

CEPT has always believed in pushing the boundaries of excellence. The formal recognition as a Centre of Excellence, and the autonomy that comes with it, is a big responsibility and an opportunity for more students to participate in the vibrant and liberal environment at CEPT. Recognizing this as a learning process for the University, Dr. Patel commends the significant work put in by the education department, many faculty, and staff members. Every member of the University team has contributed to this effort in some way or the other. This recognition encourages CEPT University to continue to strive for excellence.

Urvi Sheth, Head, CEPT Workshops recently conducted a Capacity Building Program (CBP) during the ongoing CoVid-19 pandemic. The training program, geared towards updating skills of the Workshop team, selected furniture pieces from the works of Danish designers - Hans J. Wegnrer, Kaare Klint and Poul Kjaerholm, to be replicated by the team.
