𝗠𝗘𝗧𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗢𝗚𝗜𝗖: 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗖𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗔𝗟 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗘𝗟 𝗘𝗡𝗚𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗚

The studio, “METALLOGIC: Structural Steel Engineering,” explored the relationship between architectural vision and structural efficiency through steel design. Set along the Riverfront, Ahmedabad, the studio investigated how form, structure, and spatial experience can merge to create functional yet expressive public architecture.

Students designed a range of urban interventions including bus stands, food kiosks, office spaces, shops, entrance canopies, parking sheds, walkway canopies, amphitheatres, exhibition galleries, and public pavilions. Through an iterative design process, the studio encouraged experimentation with structural systems, spatial morphology, and the architectural possibilities embedded within steel construction.

The studio interventions explored modular truss systems, lightweight roofing, and organically branching structural forms, creating dynamic and responsive public spaces within the urban landscape.

The studio “𝗩𝘂𝗹𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘀𝗶𝘀” under the Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering program at CEPT University explored interdisciplinary approaches to understanding geotechnical and environmental challenges through spatial and temporal analysis.

The studio review was enriched by the valuable insights from:

• Prof. (Dr.) A. S. Arya – Former Group Director, PGSG & Professor at SAC, and Honorary Professor at Gujarat University.

• Mr. Himanshu Kotak – Director – C-Phi Consult Pvt. Ltd.

The jurors appreciated the students’ thoughtful integration of GIS tools with geotechnical engineering principles, reflecting strong analytical thinking, practical relevance, and an understanding of real-world vulnerabilities.

The studio “𝗛𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀” documents the responses of the building forms exposed to climate extremes through strategies adapted for heat avoidance and passive cooling.
Students developed pavilion designs within a compact spatial envelope, testing their ideas through heliodon-based solar studies to understand the impact of orientation, surface articulation, and openness on heat gain.

These explorations were translated into 1:10 wireframe models and as 1:1 scale structures, where students explored insulating materials and passive cooling systems, and tested their performance.

The resulting pavilions act as spatial and structural systems, demonstrating the synergy of material, form, and performance can work together to in responding to climate.

The MSED Structural Strengthening and Rehabilitation Studio focuses on advanced technologies such as laser scanning, non-destructive testing (NDT), and damage mapping. Students undertake advanced nonlinear structural analysis using detailed data to assess structural performance and identify vulnerabilities.
Based on comprehensive numerical analysis, suitable interventions are proposed using retrofitting techniques such as FRP applications and anchor bars to enhance safety, durability, and compliance with the latest standards. This approach helps optimize structural performance, extend the lifespan of structures, and minimize disruption.

𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲: 𝗕𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗖𝗘𝗣𝗧

The Faculty of Technology (FT) at CEPT University, in collaboration with the Indian Plumbing Association (IPA CEPT Student Chapter, Ahmedabad) and the Indian Red Cross Society, successfully organized a Blood Donation Camp on 10th April 2026.

Held as part of the celebrations of World Plumbing Day and World Water Day, the initiative witnessed an incredible response - 𝟭𝟬𝟱 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱, contributing to a truly noble cause.

This achievement was made possible with the strong support of the Student Service Office (SSO) and the FT Students’ Council.

Heartfelt gratitude to all the donors and volunteers whose enthusiasm and generosity made this initiative a success.
