Smt. S. R. Mehta Arts College, Navgujarat Campus, organized an Induction Programme for newly admitted B.A. Semester I students of English and Gujarati medium. Principal Dr. Darsha Jani welcomed the students and guided them on discipline, regular attendance, academic excellence, the National Education Policy (NEP), and the university examination and evaluation system.

Faculty members familiarized students with the academic schedule and encouraged active participation in NSS, cultural activities, sports, and other co-curricular initiatives. The programme provided valuable guidance and confidence to students as they begin their academic journey at the college.

The NSS Unit of Smt. S. R. Mehta Arts College, Navgujarat Campus, organized a Guru Purnima celebration under the guidance of Principal Dr. Darsha Jani and NSS Programme Officers Dr. Nayana Chudasama and Dr. Tejani Munshi. NSS volunteers honoured faculty members with a tilak, rose, and pen as tokens of gratitude and respect.

Smt. S. R. Mehta Arts College, in association with the Central Library, successfully organized a biography reading session on Late Shri Arunbhai Mehta, an eminent entrepreneur and philanthropist. His inspiring journey and remarkable contributions to society were highlighted during the session. Notably, his generous donations to the institution led to the college being named after his mother, Smt. Sushilaben Ramniklal Mehta, reflecting a legacy of philanthropy and commitment to education. The programme was graced by Principal Dr. Darsha Jani, who shared meaningful insights into his life, struggles, and achievements.

Faculty members and alumni further enriched the session by sharing motivational experiences and reflections from Arunbhai Mehta’s life. With the participation of more than 150 students, the event proved to be highly engaging and impactful, reinforcing the values of hard work, perseverance, and social responsibility. Smt. S. R. Mehta Arts College celebrated a vibrant series of Theme Days from 23rd to 28th February 2026, creating an engaging and joyful campus environment. The week featured activities such as Group Day, Signature Day, Mismatch Day, Back to School Day, Traditional Day, and Fashion Show Day. Students actively participated with great enthusiasm, showcasing unity, creativity, and cultural appreciation through coordinated outfits, heartfelt messages, nostalgic expressions, and traditional attire representing India’s diversity.

The celebrations concluded with an impressive Fashion Show Day, where students confidently presented their style and talent on the ramp. The entire event reflected the spirit of togetherness, creativity, and student engagement, leaving behind memorable experiences for all. Such initiatives continue to strengthen holistic development and foster a lively academic culture within our college.

Under the aegis of the Navgujarat Group of Colleges, Smt. S. R. Mehta Arts College successfully organized a two-day workshop to foster scientific curiosity and hands-on learning among students.

Conducted by expert trainer Mr. Jeet Parihar, the workshop engaged 75 students through interactive sessions and live demonstrations. Students were introduced to modern technologies through practical demonstrations of a flying drone, a microscope, a solar panel, a rain detection sensor, a sound detection sensor, and an automatic door opening system using ultrasonic sensors and servo motors.

Special emphasis was placed on home automation using the ESP8266 microcontroller board and the RemoteXY software kits, providing students with a real-world understanding of automation technologies.

The programme was successfully executed with the support of Dr. Darsha Jani, Principal of the college, and Dr. Shobhana Nair, Coordinator of the Innovation Club, whose guidance was instrumental in its success.

The workshop proved to be a valuable learning experience—nurturing innovation, creativity, and technological awareness among students.

Smt. S. R. Mehta Arts College, under its NSS Unit, organized two impactful initiatives promoting student health and digital awareness. A Thalassemia Screening Camp was held in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society and Rotary Clubs of Ahmedabad Airport and Saryam. Over 70 students participated in this preventive health drive, conducted under the guidance of Principal Dr. Darsha Jani and NSS Coordinators Dr. Nayana Chudasama and Dr. Tejani Munshi.

In a parallel effort to foster digital responsibility, the college conducted a Cyber Security Awareness Program featuring an essay writing competition, poster making, and an expert lecture by Dr. Tejani Munshi. The sessions emphasized safe online practices and the ethical dimensions of cyber behavior. Both events reflected the college’s commitment to nurturing socially aware, health-conscious, and digitally responsible citizens.
