Students of Prin. M. C. Shah Commerce College delivered an impressive performance at Arena 2026 – Leadership Hackathon, organized by IMS on 8 August 2026. Competing through three challenging rounds designed to test leadership, creativity, teamwork, problem-solving and decision-making, the team displayed resilience throughout the competition. From securing 9th rank after the first round and 10th after the second, they made a strong comeback in the final round to achieve an outstanding 2nd Rank overall.

Congratulations to Unnati Tapodhan, Harshrajsinh Rathod, Divakar Dhiraj, Ragnya Dangi and Krisha Kotak on this commendable achievement. The students performed under the dedicated guidance of Dr. Hetal Doshi and Dr. Beena Patel, with the continued encouragement of Principal Dr. N. D. Shah.

The NSS Unit of Prin. M. C. Shah Commerce College, Navgujarat Campus, participated in the Tree Plantation Mega Drive organized by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation at Science City Park. More than 40 NSS volunteers actively planted saplings, contributing to the mission of planting 5 million trees and promoting environmental conservation, climate awareness, and sustainable development.

The programme was graced by Hon’ble Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, who encouraged youth participation in environmental protection. Conducted under the guidance of Principal Dr. N. D. Shah and NSS Programme Officer Dr. Janak Kavaiya, the initiative concluded with a pledge to protect and nurture the planted saplings.

Prin. M. C. Shah Commerce College, Navgujarat Campus, organized a ‘Guru Vandana’ programme on the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima. Students shared their thoughts on the importance of a Guru in life, while NSS volunteers expressed their gratitude by honouring faculty members with flowers and tilak and seeking their blessings.

Students from Semester 1, 3, 5 and M.Com Semester 3 participated enthusiastically in the celebration. The programme was anchored by NSS volunteer Ms. Unnati Tapodhan and successfully coordinated by NSS Programme Officer Dr. Janak Kavaiya under the guidance of Principal Dr. N. D. Shah.

We are proud to congratulate our NCC Cadet, Archana Yadav, for her exceptional performance at the Army Attachment Camp held from 1–12 July 2026. Demonstrating excellence in both sports and creativity, she secured First Prize in Volleyball and First Prize in Art & Craft. Her achievement reflects dedication, discipline, and the spirit of all-round development that our NCC unit strives to foster.

Prin. M. C. Shah Commerce College successfully conducted a 30-hour Beauty Workshop for girl students from 29 December 2025 to 03 January 2026, with enthusiastic participation from 71 students. The initiative aimed at skill development through practical, hands-on training in Bridal Makeup, Hair Styling, Skin Care, and Self Grooming.

The workshop was highly interactive and skill-oriented, enabling participants to gain real-world exposure and confidence in beauty and grooming techniques. The program concluded with the distribution of certificates to all participants, marking the successful completion of an enriching learning experience.

An excellent display of knowledge, teamwork, and competitive spirit was witnessed as the Quiz Team of Prin. M. C. Shah Commerce College emerged as the winner at Mediotsav–2026, a Quiz Competition held on 7 February 2026 and organized by the Gujarat University–affiliated institute, National Institute of Mass Communication and Journalism. With participation from nearly 25 colleges, the event progressed through a written round, a buzzer round, and an intense final round, where our team secured first place with an impressive performance.

The winning team comprised Ms. Unnati Vinodchandra Tapodhan, Mr. Harshrajsinh Ashoksinh Rathod, and Mr. Harshrajsinh Surendrasinh Solanki. The team participated under the mentorship and guidance of Dr. Hetal Doshi and Dr. Beena Patel, with constant motivation from Prin. Dr. N. D. Shah. The college congratulates the team on their well-deserved success and appreciates their efforts in upholding the institution’s tradition of academic excellence.

We are proud to share that students of Prin. M. C. Shah Commerce College participated in an Elocution Competition organized by Yuvak Vikas Trust on 30 January 2026, on the occasion of Gandhi Nirvan Day. The competition, held on the topic “સત્યાગ્રહ થી સામાજિક માધ્યમો સુધી: અન્યાયના પ્રતિકારનાં બદલાતા સ્વરૂપો”, witnessed participation from 45 students representing various colleges of Ahmedabad. The event aimed to spread the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi among the youth and to encourage reflection on values such as truth, non-violence, peace, and moral integrity.

We are pleased to announce that Mr. Solanki Harshrajsinh secured 3rd Place in the competition and was awarded a certificate and a cash prize of ₹1,500. The participating students included Ms. Tapodhan Unnati, Mr. Dhiraj Diwakar, and Mr. Solanki Harshrajsinh. The event was guided by the event in charge, Dr. Hetal Doshi. The college congratulates the winner and appreciates all participants for representing the institution with confidence and excellence.

On the occasion of National Youth Day, Prin. M. C. Shah Commerce College commemorated the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda on 12 January 2026 through thoughtful academic and developmental initiatives.

The programme highlighted the importance of self-development, discipline, and moral values in student life, drawing inspiration from Swami Vivekananda’s teachings. Active student participation made the celebration meaningful and reflective.

As part of the observance, a Holistic Health workshop was organized in collaboration with Brahma Kumaris, focusing on mental, physical, and emotional well-being. The session introduced students to meditation, positive thinking, inner balance, and healthy lifestyle practices, enabling them to experience calmness, focus, and mental clarity.

The celebration reinforced the true spirit of National Youth Day by nurturing disciplined, mindful, and value-driven youth.
