C. C. Sheth College of Commerce successfully organized a one-day workshop on “Research Methodology” at the Navgujarat Campus on 29th March 2026, sponsored by the Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat (KCG) under the Promotion of Research and Facilities Scheme. The workshop was conducted under the guidance of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Dharmendra S. Mistry, with the objective of strengthening research capabilities among faculty members. The sessions covered essential and advanced aspects of research, including statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, data processing, and effective research design, enabling participants to enhance their academic and supervisory competencies.

The workshop witnessed active participation from faculty members across Gujarat University and other institutions, with expert sessions delivered by distinguished academicians. The sessions were highly interactive and included practical exposure to tools such as SPSS, fostering a deeper understanding of data analysis and research applications. The programme concluded with a valedictory function and certificate distribution, marking a successful initiative towards promoting a strong research culture and data-driven academic practices.

The Innovation Club of C. C. Sheth College of Commerce successfully organized a 30-hour (5-day) Certificate Course on Python from 12th to 18th March 2026. The course aimed to introduce students to programming concepts, strengthen analytical thinking, and equip them with practical Python skills relevant to both academic and real-world applications. A total of 48 students from B.Com and M.Com actively participated, engaging in sessions that balanced conceptual understanding with hands-on learning across topics such as Python fundamentals, data structures, and basic data analysis.

The course was conducted under the expert guidance of Mr. Chintan Patel, Academic Associate at IIMA, and Mr. Darshil Dhruv, Data Scientist at Deets Digital. Their practical insights and industry-oriented approach enriched the learning experience. To promote collaborative learning, students were divided into five groups and assigned projects focused on applying Python for analysis. These projects encouraged teamwork, problem-solving, and effective presentation skills.

On the final day, each group presented their work, demonstrating creativity, analytical ability, and a strong grasp of Python tools and techniques. Principal Dr. D. S. Mistry highlighted the importance of learning emerging technologies for commerce students and appreciated the efforts of the instructors and participants. The course concluded with positive feedback, reflecting increased confidence among students and reinforcing the Innovation Club’s commitment to fostering practical and skill-based learning.

Sheth College of Commerce, Navgujarat Campus, Ahmedabad successfully organized a One-Day Workshop on Research Methodology on 13 February 2026, under the leadership of Shri Snehal Shah, Managing Trustee of Vidhyabhavan Trust. Sponsored by the Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat (KCG), the workshop witnessed the participation of 111 students from 30 colleges across 5 universities.

The sessions, led by Dr. M. N. Patel (Retd. HOD, Statistics, Gujarat University), along with Dr. Vivek Bhatt and Dr. Kedar Bhatt, covered key aspects including research problem formulation, research design, data collection, sampling techniques, and data analysis using Excel and SPSS. The interactive format ensured practical clarity and meaningful engagement for UG, PG, and research scholars.

Graced by Principal Dr. D. S. Mistry and faculty members, the workshop reinforced the importance of research orientation in higher education. The program concluded with certificate distribution and an overwhelming response from participants, marking it as a successful academic initiative.

The NSS Unit of C. C. Sheth Commerce College, Navgujarat Campus, successfully organized a two-day Social Service Programme on 18th and 19th February 2026 at its adopted village, Shertha (Taluka Kalol, District Gandhinagar). The initiative aimed to promote rural development, raise awareness of cleanliness, conserve the environment, and foster meaningful engagement with the local community. NSS volunteers conducted village cleanliness drives at public places, school premises, and temples; undertook plantation activities; cared for existing trees; and spread awareness about water conservation.

The students also wrote social awareness slogans across the village and held discussions with villagers on health, education, environmental protection, and de-addiction. Working with discipline and dedication, the volunteers truly reflected the NSS motto, “Not Me But You.” The programme strengthened the bond between the college and the village community while nurturing a strong sense of social responsibility among students.

As part of the initiative, NSS volunteers actively participated in campus cleaning, reinforcing the importance of hygiene, discipline, and collective responsibility.

In addition, previously planted saplings were watered and carefully maintained to promote environmental sustainability and nurture a greener campus. C. C. Sheth College of Commerce solemnly observed Veer Baal Diwas to pay tribute to the unparalleled courage and sacrifice of the Chhote Sahibzade, the younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, who laid down their lives upholding the values of faith, justice, and truth.

Over two days, a series of reflective and engaging activities were held to create awareness among students about the legacy of these young martyrs:

Awareness Session: Students were educated on the historical significance of Veer Baal Diwas and the inspiring life of the Chhote Sahibzade, emphasizing values such as bravery, moral strength, and righteousness.

Interactive Games: Knowledge-based games focusing on Sikh history, Indian culture, and the Sahibzade’s sacrifices helped deepen historical understanding in an engaging manner.

Slogan Writing Competition: Students expressed their reverence through creative and patriotic slogans that reflected courage and national pride.

Awareness Rally: A peaceful rally was conducted on campus with students holding placards and slogans promoting unity, sacrifice, and remembrance.

Yoga and Silent Prayer: A wellness session included yoga followed by a moment of silent prayer to honour the Bal Shaheeds with respect and reflection.

The Innovation Club of C. C. Sheth College of Commerce successfully organized a workshop on “AI and Business Intelligence” for students on 16 December 2025, with the objective of promoting innovative thinking and enhancing awareness of Artificial Intelligence applications in modern business environments.

The session was conducted by Prof. Vyankatesh Emche, Assistant Professor – Big Data Analytics, AIDTM, who provided valuable insights into the fundamentals of Business Intelligence and the role of AI in strengthening data-driven decision-making. Through practical examples and real-world applications, students gained an understanding of how AI is used in areas such as analytics, forecasting, customer behavior analysis, and operational efficiency.

The interactive session encouraged active participation and concluded with a vote of thanks, making it an informative and engaging learning experience for the students.

The NSS Unit of C. C. Sheth College of Commerce, Navgujarat Campus, organized an educational visit to Swadeshi Hullad at GMDC Ground, Ahmedabad, on 9 December 2025.
The visit aimed to create awareness about sustainable practices, recycling methods, and the importance of responsible waste management.

NSS volunteers explored various eco-friendly initiatives and learned about innovative ways to reuse waste materials, convert scrap into valuable products, and promote swadeshi, sustainable alternatives. The visit encouraged students to adopt greener habits and emphasized the role of youth in protecting the environment.
