Catch Foundation is an Ahmedabad based environmental NGO founded in 2014. The NGO's focus is on creating awareness of cleanliness in the surrounding areas, segregation of dry and wet waste at source, increasing the green landscape in the city, and encouraging people not to use single-use plastic. The industrial visit was planned on 26th Feb and 27th Feb, 2024 for IMBA third year students at Catch Foundation Dense Forest, Motera, Ahmedabad to provide the practical exposure under the domain of Environmental Studies subject.
The visit began with a warm welcome by the organization’s senior CSR Coordinator Mr Satish Rathore who introduced the history and achievements of Catch Foundation. Students were briefed about the ongoing and past projects of the organization. Also, the facts about Miyawaki method of plantation was provided to the students.
After a detailed orientation, students were taken on a guided tour of the dense forest created and maintained by Catch Foundation. The organization. has made significant strides in sustainable development. During the visit, students were briefed on the company's sustainable practices, including plantation, waste management, and the use of eco-friendly materials.
Following the tour, a carbon sequestration workshop was conducted followed by a question & answer session for students to clarify their doubts and seek further information from the organization representatives. This interactive session was highly informative and appreciated by the students. Thus, the industrial visit was an enriching experience for the students. They gained practical knowledge about ensuring sustainability in surroundings. The visit enriched students with exposure to the real-world applications of concepts learned in the classroom.
