Mr. Mohd Danish, an alumnus of Department of Botany, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU),has been selected for Master Program in Agricultural Biotechnology in Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences, at Hungary.

He had Completed his Bachelor's degree in Botany from Aligarh Muslim University in 2021.

Ms.Shareeba Pasha, an ELT postgraduate student at the Department of English, Aligarh Muslim University has been selected for Masters programme in Intercultural Communication at the University College London (UCL), England.

Shareeba, who has completed an online course, ‘Inter-Culturally Speaking’, from the University of Oxford, UK and ‘The Bilingual Brain’ from the University of Houston, USA, completed her senior secondary and undergraduate education at AMU and developed interest in the language and culture studies.

She has published several articles, including a paper on slangs and generation gap, and another on a social taboo, female ge***al mutilation, which drew appraisals from her peers and teachers. She has been engaged in schoolgirls’ English teaching with special focus on girl children from underprivileged section of society.

Dr. Shima Sadaf (Student Member, IEEE) was born in Patna, Bihar, India, in 1983. She has completed the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering with Gold medal and Distinction from Qatar University, Doha, Qatar. She received the M.Tech. degree (Hons.) in power system and drives from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU)in 2007, and the B.Tech. degree in electrical engineering from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh, India, in 2004. She was a Lecturer with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Integral University, Lucknow, India, from August 2007 to September 2008. She has worked as an Electrical Design Engineer with the ETA ASCON Group on various projects, from 2009 to 2011, and Hyundai Engineering and Construction Company Ltd., on National Museum of Qatar Project, from 2012 to 2018, Qatar. She has been working as a Graduate Teaching Research Assistant with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Qatar University, since 2018. She is also a Certified LEED AP BD + C and PMP Ⓡ professional. Her research interests include power electronics converters, renewable energy sources, and microgrid/nanogrid applications. She is an Active Student Member of IEEE Industrial Application, Young Professionals, and Women in Engineering Communities. She is also an active reviewer member of various reputed international conferences.

She had done Bachelor of Economics (BA Hons.) from the Aligarh Muslim University, India. She also holds a Master of Diplomacy and Trade from Monash University, Australia.

Proud Moment for Alig fraternity!!

We congratulate the former AMU students and siblings, Saba Ishrat and Mohammad Rashid Hussain to start Ph.D. at University of Oxford, UK and Mississippi State University, USA respectively.

Saba Ishrat, alumna of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has started her Ph.D. in Psychiatry from October 2021, at the prestigious University of Oxford, UK.

Oxford University ranks number 1 in Times Higher Education ranking and number 2 in QS ranking among all universities of the world. Saba declined several opportunities including, Karolinska Institute in Sweden and Université de Montréal in Canada.
Based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Medical Sciences Division, her research will focus on the Neurogenomics approach to investigate addiction-related brain damage and neurocognitive outcomes.
Saba completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Psychology from Aligarh Muslim University and a second Master’s degree in Cognitive Science-Neuroscience from the University of Trento (Italy). She worked as a Research Intern at Forschungszentrum Jülich (German) and as a Junior Researcher at University Medical Center Utrecht (The Netherlands). Her expertise is based on Medical Image Analysis using Neuroimaging techniques such as structural, functional, and diffusion MRI, which she further aspires to apply in addiction studies.

Whereas her brother, Rashid received Research Assistant position at Paul Jacob’s Laboratory which is the biggest university operated high voltage lab of North America. Rashid completed his B. Tech and M. Tech from Aligarh Muslim University in Electrical Engineering. Further, he worked at Texas A&M (Research Associate) and Qatar University (Research Associate).
