Today faculty members & staffs of Alipurduar University visited Notun Para in Jaldapara near Sheesha Mara River and distributed about 300 blankets to villagers who were effected by the recent disaster due to sudden flood water. We are grateful to local authorities & villagers for extendinding necessary cooperation. On behalf of Alipurduar University, Jayanta Chakrabarty ( COE), Baturam Sarkar, Prasanta Biswas and Amit Chakrabarty successfully completed this outreach programme. Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof Sarit K Chaudhuri, appreciated all members of APDU for such collective efforts.

On the occasion of National Constitution Day (26th November), a Special Lecture was organised by the Department of Political Science in collaboration with IQAC and the R&D Cell of Alipurduar University. Our invited speaker, Dr. Jyoti Bikash Nath, delivered an insightful lecture on the key features, values, and contemporary relevance of the Constitution of India.
The programme was graced by the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Sarit Kumar Chaudhuri, who delivered the inaugural speech through video mode, offering valuable reflections on the importance of observing Constitution Day and inspiring students to uphold constitutional ideals.
The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by the Organizing Secretary, Prof. Mr. Bimal Roy, Head of the Department of Political Science, Alipurduar University.

Dr Chandreyee Goswami, Czech Academy of Sciences visited APDU and met Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof Sarit K Chaudhuri and faculty members of Geography department Dr. Edwin Penjur Bhutia and Shri Utpal Kumar Barman and discussed certain academic issues.

Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor of Alipurduar University, Prof Sarit K Chaudhuri, visited Sukanta Mahavidyalaya at Dhupguri to attend one day National Seminar as the Chief Guest of the inaugural session. Title of the seminar was, Re-reading The Study and Research of the Indian History & The History of North Bengal, organised by the College in Collaboration with Bangiya Itihas Samity Kolkata on 15th Nov, 2025. Dr.Nilangshu Sekhar Das ,Principal of the college extended welcome address, Dr.Nirmal Chandra Roy, G.B President, gave the inaugural address & Prof Ananda Gopal Ghosh, Emeritus Professor, NBU, delivered the Key note address. Prof Sarit K Chaudhuri also addressed the gathering concerning the theme of the seminar and it's relevance in the context of North Bengal. Dr.Badal Roy extended vote of thanks on behalf of the organisers. More than 30 papers were presented largely by the historians from various Institutions of West Bengal. Vice-Chancellor extended special thanks to Principal for such academic value addition and also for maintaining wonderful ambience of Sukanta Mahavidyalaya.

Celebration of National Sports Day in APDU
Alipurduar University, in collaboration with 13 Bengal Bn NCC COY - 2/13, has organized the National Sports Day 2025 with a series of events. Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Sarit Kumar Chaudhuri inaugurated the day’s events by lighting the lamp ceremony in the Satyendranath Tagore Civil Services study center of Alipurduar University. Honorable Vice Chancellor and the Registrar of Alipurduar University, Prof. Jaydip Roy, highlighted the importance of sports activities in the holistic development of an academic institution. Eminent Yoga practitioner Dibakor Dey from Coochbehar assisted the students of Alipurduar University with a vibrant Yoga session, where 125 students from Alipurduar University participated. A bye-cycle rally with 20 participants from Alipurduar University started from gate no. 2 of Alipurduar University. Honorable Vice-Chancellor and Registrar of Alipurduar University flagged off the event, which encircled the Alipurduar city. A friendly Volleyball match was also organized amongst the teaching and nonteaching staff of Alipurduar University, which was won by the Alipurduar University nonteaching staff. On 30th August 2025, a friendly Volleyball match was organized among the girl’s students of 13 Bengal Bn NCC COY - 2/13. Another friendly Volleyball match between the boys of 13 Bengal Bn NCC COY - 2/13 was organized later.
