The three-day TEDx Basant Nagar–inspired workshop and YC.MUN (Youth Conference Model United Nations) at The Millennium School, Amritsar, provided students with a platform to develop 21st-century skills, public speaking abilities, leadership qualities, and a sense of responsible global citizenship. The event was organized by education activists Dr Rouble Tuli and Shikha Tuli Dutt in collaboration with The Millennium School, Amritsar, under the leadership of Principal Ms Shailja Tandon.
The programme witnessed the gracious presence of distinguished guests Dr Akashdeep Singh Chandi, Chairperson of Global Group of Institutes, and Mr Gunbir Singh, President of Dilbir Foundation and a prominent environmentalist associated with WWF India leadership in Punjab. Dr Chandi, a Harvard alumnus and a noted advocate of quality education, inspired students during the TEDx-style workshop, where participants worked on themes, storytelling, and stage presentation skills. A special TEDx panel discussion added further depth to the programme and featured eminent panelists Mr Sandeep Randhawa, Ms Sanha Khanna, Mr Abhishek Singhal, Ms Amrita Nalwa, Mr Rohit Manchanda, Mr Amrinder Singh, and Ms Vandana Mehra, who shared valuable insights and experiences with the students.
The YC.MUN conference, held on 11 May, engaged delegates in dynamic United Nations-style committee discussions, debates, and resolution drafting exercises. Mr Gunbir Singh encouraged students to become environmentally conscious and socially responsible citizens. Known for his contributions towards wildlife conservation, sustainable living, and organic practices, he motivated participants to use leadership and dialogue for positive global change.
The competitions and discussions were judged by an esteemed panel comprising Navreet Gugnani Kapoor, Ridhi Peshawaria, Akanksha Aggarwal, Tripat Kahai Ahuja, and Mannat Kapoor, whose expertise and encouragement inspired the participants throughout the event.
